We went to paint and view galleries. We got what we wanted and more. We enjoyed the views, the food, and the friendly free spirits. Yes, Taos is a bit ram shamble in places, not pristine, but we liked that slightly edgy, yet safe, feel. The history and diversity is interesting. It's a great base for more athletic and sporting activities in season as well, fishing, rafting, skiing. If you're bored, you're not looking. Only negative, the plaza has become tourist trap shops, but, you know, I sort of expect that in any town where I go as a tourist(grin!)
