We went to paint and view galleries. We got what we wanted and more. We enjoyed the views, the food, and the friendly free spirits. Yes, Taos is a bit ram shamble in places, not pristine, but we liked that slightly edgy, yet safe, feel. The history and diversity is interesting. It's a great base for more athletic and sporting activities in season as well, fishing, rafting, skiing. If you're bored, you're not looking. Only negative, the plaza has become tourist trap shops, but, you know, I sort of expect that in any town where I go as a tourist(grin!)

“Unique Gifts”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

Great shopping experience without feeling overwhelmed by too many shops. Just the right mix of art, clothing and gifts for that one-of-a-kind surprise.

Nice town - only so much shopping you can do. Nice sight seeing things to see some are free - research ahead of time.

“Disappointed”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

I had visions of art and artist with a spiritual bent but what I found was very different. The plaza area was 'Made in China" junk, very touristy. We eventually found some galleries but were not that impressed. The drive up the high road was more interesting that the town. The low road is faster but not as visually pleasing.
