“Looking for a meal in Taos?”

We dropped in while visiting Blue Fish. What a great surprise! Enjoyed the vegetarian lasagna and the butternut squash soup. The staff/servers were super friendly, too.

“Hidden Gem”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 October 2013 via mobile

Beautiful setting, excellent food, warm and hospitable service. Great spot for breakfast or lunch. Don't miss it when you are in Taos. It is set back from the road on the right as you head to see the Rio Grande Bridge, next to the Overland Sheepskin. Make the effort, you won't be disappointed.

“Puts me in mind of Chez Panisse.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 October 2013

I swear to God, I've never had a quiche with such gorgeous flavor. And the salad was just amazing. Some of the ingredients are grown on the premises. Some are sourced from local growers. I'm always inclined to think "locally grown and sourced" is some kind of pursed-lips moralism, but then I taste the results. It's really the only way to wind up with food that tastes like real food. What a great addition to the Taos restaurant scene. With Sushi Hatori a few doors away, this is the new headquarters for foodies.

“Head to the Farmhouse”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 September 2013

Although the Farmhouse Cafe and Bakery is newly opened in Taos, the Taoseñas whose inspiration have lead to this concept have been involved in local organic farming and projects that benefit the community for years. We went the first day they opened and were overwhelmed with the simple creative comfort of the café, the warmness of the people who were preparing and serving the food, and the delightful menu with standard as well as very creative menu items made of local organic ingredients offered at the most reasonable prices in Taos. From the outside patio one can eat in full view unobstructed view of Pueblo Peak and watch the seasonal cycles of one of their large gardens that provide much of the produce used in their menu items. Eating at the Farmhouse is like literally eating at a farmhouse during harvest—great food, warm atmosphere, and friendly people. I will be most fascinated to watch the evolution of the menu as seasons and availability change. You can’t go wrong here, be sure to go often, but remember they are closed on Monday!

“Excellent Farm to Table Brunch”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 September 2013

We happened on the Farmhouse when we drove by the Overland Sheepskin store. They had a sign out for Sunday brunch and we decided to check it out. We met the owner, Micah Newberry, who was wonderful. She has a passion for local grown organic food and it shows. We had the farm scramble, which was amazing. The cheese they used really stood out, and the bacon was perfect. If you want an excellent local farm to table experience near Taos this is it.
