I had a lovely stay in Taos and my casita at Casa Gallina was a highlight. I only stayed two days, but it immediately felt like home. I had a great deck with views of the mountains. A cozy living area with a fireplace and a nice kitchen. The bottle of wine and the snacks waiting for me were a nice touch. On arrival, you are made to feel like part of the family. I would stay there again if I make my way back to Taos.

Hard to add accolades not already heaped on Richard and Casa Gallina. The Leghorn suite was very spacious and comfortable for our stay. Truly a great spot to call home while seeking out the wonders of Taos.

My husband, two dogs and I stayed in one of the charming guest houses at Casa Gallina for the Christmas holidays. We felt right at home immediately! Richard, the owner, warmly greeted us with wine, cheese, fresh eggs and baked goods upon our arrival. What a wonderful host! The casita was cozy and well-appointed, with a fireplace, kitchen and great views of the mountains. I highly recommend it!

My family stayed in two casitas and thoroughly enjoyed our time at Casa Gallina. The houses are comfortable, colorful and inviting. The host, Richard S., has been able to achieve a nice balance between the aesthetically beautiful and the rustic charm so many of us find calming and relaxing. Richard is a human Wikipedia for Taos, making him a valuable and memorable host. I would stay here again without hesitation (and so would our dogs! Muchas gracias Sean & Rio!)

This is an amazing bed & breakfast. I have never been to such a well-run, beautiful, and relaxing place during my travels. It is a perfect place to stay while enjoying Taos, whether you are seeing art, skiing, doing day hikes or just relaxing. Were met with a bottle of wine, a warm welcome, and an amazing house of our own for a few days. It is comfy, quite, cozy and well-tended all around. Do not miss an opportunity to sleep here and spend a while getting to know the owners Richard and Matt. You will not regret it! Five stars.

Could stay here for the rest of my life. Richard is a gracious and warm host, with a remarkable eye for homemaking. He has created something truly special here, a sight to behold in and of itself. Also, Farm fresh eggs every morning from feathery neighbors across the lawn.

It was love at first sight for us. After finding our way there in the dark, it felt like a welcome home to walk into our casita - complete with firewood, candles, a bottle of wine, fresh eggs, fresh coffee & tea, and a beautiful spread of tiny dishes of fresh snacks on the antique wooden table, with colorful fabrics and local artwork all around. We were especially delighted by the kitchen - little & cute & with everything one could need, and we loved the peaceful bedroom and deck with a view of the mountains. Indeed, we were so cozy and comfortable in our little house that we skipped the next day's planned skiing and just stayed in by the fire, with a couple of trips outdoors to feed scraps to the very entertaining flock of chickens! It is so apparent that a great deal of loving care has gone into the renovation and maintenance of these cottages and surrounding grounds. Richard was away that weekend, and Sean, our substitute host, was fantastic, telling us about the best places to catch live music and good restaurants in town. We were completely enchanted by Casa Gallina and can't wait to visit again.

Room Tip: Loved the Bantam Roost casita!
