“An unexpected and unique oasis”
Reviewed 24 February 2013

Originally on our way to Santa Fe, we re-routed due to weather and ended up in Taos. So happy to find a little in-town oasis for three, including our dog Story. The hosts were more than welcoming and the Casa provided for a warm and cozy getaway weekend. Also, the breakfasts were fresh and tasty! Til next time.

We are repeat visitors to La Posada. This is the second year we spent Thanksgiving at the B & B.
Brad and Michael are great hosts, the house is very welcoming, and breakfasts are great! Meeting other guests over breakfast is an adventure in itself.
We stayed in El Solecito, a very comfortable but roomy room which gets the morning sun.
Another attraction of La Posada de Taos is that it is walking distance from the plaza and many restaurants and shops.
We will be back!

Room Tip: For a winter stay the rooms in the original part are best (El Solecito, Lino and Beutler). Lino is...

Beautiful house, very nice people, gourmet southwestern style breakfast, two blocks off the Plaza, and all in a magical retreat like Taos - what's not to like. There are few better places in the world to rest, relax, and recharge. Of course if you like to ski, shop, fish, hike, site see, or eat, there aren't many places better for these things either. I could not recommend a place more highly.

Room Tip: All the rooms I have seen are very nice. However, this time we stayed in the little house across the...

Michael and Brad created a perfect Taos Christmas for me, my wife and our friends. A special invitation to the pueblo's Christmas eve ceremony and an amazing evening buffet (sugar plums?) left us ready to be nestled snug in our beds! Add in Christmas eve snowfall for a white Christmas and great skiing--you have a perfect Taos Christmas.

Room Tip: El Solecito is nice and roomy with a kiva fireplace.

This place was perfect. We stayed two nights in the suite, El Solecito. It was comfortable (the bed included) and homey, it and the main house were nicely decorated-- none of the garish artwork that outsiders often buy to impress tourists. There was a good selection of DVDs, magazines and books. Birdwatchers will enjoy the courtyards. It's an easy walk to the plaza, Moby Dickens, Brodskey's and Grahams. Our room was quiet day and night. Michael took special care to learn about food allergies and the breakfast and afternoon snacks were very very good; the tea and soda selections were a nice touch. The hosts, Brad and Michael were helpful, friendly, casual and not at all intrusive. Really, La Posada is charming in every way. I cannot recommend it enough. We make overnight trips to Taos from Albuquerque 2 or 3 times a year and of all the places we've stayed La Posada is the best.

La Posada de Taos is a gem ! The "home" is beautiful and located for easy access to the square and town center as well as some of the best restaurants . Our hosts were incredibly helpful and provided help with reservations and sites to see . Michael is an amazing chef and provided healthy and creative breakfasts each day . His root veggie pancakes were GREAT !! The common areas are warm and comfortable and a great place to relax in the afternoons and meet the other guests . I would highly recommend this facility .... and we will make a point to return in the not too distant future ! Thanks Brad and Michael and PAT your kindness was greatly appreciated !!!!

Room Tip: Beutler was just lovely .... great bed and amazing sheets !!!

This was not the first time staying here, but this time it was the Beutler Room. Loved the fireplace and used it! The breakfast was healthy and ample. This B&B is very convenient to the plaza, Blumenshein and Harwood museums. There are restaurants within walking distance--highly recommend the Dara Thai restaurant--the Pad Thai was excellent. Rochelle, the innkeeper, is also a caterer, so her food presentation was lovely. She is a delight to talk to, as well as full of lots of information. She is a true professional when it comes to innkeepers.

The mattress on the bed, though, was not the slightest bit firm (the only negative I have), and should be replaced.

Room Tip: Allow extra time to get to Taos, if coming from Albuquerque or Santa Fe--there are several wineries...

Thanks so much for the 5-star review! We really appreciate that you took the time to let the world know about us. We also want to thank you for the comment about the bed in the Beutler Room and have taken immediate action to replace it in its entirety.

The king-sized bed in Beutler was unique in that we could split it into twins for those who wanted to share a room, but not a bed. That meant that when the bed was in the "king" configuration, a few of our guests found it uncomfortable. Some found it soft, some found it hard, some folks didn't know what to think of two beds made into one. The new bed will not have this problem.

With a brand new, very high-end bed in the Beutler Room, it is once again our personal favorite. It is our largest room, with a kiva fireplace and a whirlpool-style bathtub. The adobe walls surrounding it assure privacy and quiet at all times. The back entrance onto the back yard of the house provides a spectacular view of Taos Mountain.

We listen to our guests and we want to make sure that each and every person who walks through the doors of this historic home are afforded the same top-notch experience as those who came before them. Thanks again!
