La Posada de Taos B&B
Ranked #10 of 23 Taos B&B and Inns
Reviewed 17 November 2013

For four nights we called this B&B our home. The hosts, Brett and Michael, could not have done any more to make us feel welcome. I chose this inn because of it's history and proximity to the plaza. The rooms are beautiful, with their own kiva fireplaces that added to the ambience. The private courtyards are nice and the quietness of the neighborhood was wonderful. Every morning you wake up to the smell of coffee and know that Chef Michael is at work on another masterpiece. We walked every night to dinner and enjoyed "getting lost" before finding our restaurant of choice. I enjoyed all the shops and galleries. See you guys next year!

Our all-too-brief stay in Taos was made more enjoyable and far more interesting because we had chosen to stay at La Posada de Taos. Accolades offered by other travelers were right on target. Our room at the lovely, historic B&B included a wonderful kiva fireplace which took the chill off the cool fall evening. Breakfasts were creative and delicious and Michael obligingly accommodated a slightly restricted diet. We enjoyed sharing ideas and experiences with fellow guests at the morning's family-style table where our innkeeper shared insights into local events, sightseeing and places to eat. Brad's recommendation for a stop at the Veteran's Memorial at Angel Fire and his arranging dinner reservations at Antonio's were highlights we might never have discovered on our own. Being in Taos over Halloween was an unexpected bonus; imaginative costumes worn by both adults and children reflected the character of this creative arts community. We were fortunate to have planned our trip when it was possible to visit Taos Pueblo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a continuously inhabited community approximately 1000 years old. If at all possible, tour the Pueblo with one of the local guides; Cesario, our knowledgeable young guide added immeasurably to our understanding of both the history of and present-day life at the Pueblo.

The historic B & B Is beautiful both outside and in. The rooms well appointed and covered all the little things you might need and had forgotten.

The Inn Keepers were simply the best hosts you could hope for. No detail was spared. The beautiful Taos adobe style has been well preserved, the art beautiful and not over done. The food still makes me salivate when I think of it. Thank you for the wonderful food. They are very knowledgable about everything Taos.

The location is perfect you can walk a couple of blocks to the square where you will find shopping, coffee shops and really great restaurants,

I have visited TAos multiple times in the last 25 years and this is my new fav.

The inn was very comfortable, the breakfasts were outstanding, very convenient to the square and several restaurants. Both hosts were very knowledgeable about the area and offered several good suggestions of places to visit.

This was the first time for my sister and I to stay in Taos and we wanted someplace with a true Taos feel. La Posada did not disappoint. We enjoyed it very much. Brad and Michael make you feel like they have known you forever. They were warm and gracious hosts. The room was very clean and comfortable and the breakfast was a great start to our day. Michael prepared a wonderful breakfast each morning. Hope to visit again someday.

One of the most charming B&Bs we've ever visited, La Posada is a wonderful home away from home in Taos, within a short walk of the plaza. Hosts Brad and Michael (the chef who turns out exquisite gourmet breakfasts) are warm and welcoming, always ready with recommendations for everything from scenic side trips to top places for dinner. We stayed in what must be the smallest room, Lino, which was nice but a bit cramped (especially the bathroom); across the hall, though, is the spacious Buetler (spelling?), which we'll book next time. Oh yes, there will definitely be a next time! Thank you so much, Brad and Michael!
