“An absolute gem”
Reviewed 22 January 2013

This is an absolute gem! We could not have asked for anything better! Our standard room with a king bed was larger than most motel rooms . . . plenty of room to move around and sit in one of the two nice chairs. Furniture not your typical motel . . . instead it consisted of lovely carved pieces highly varnished, all of which matched, including the desk. Everything quite clean . . . beds very comfortable . . . all of the employees helpful and friendly. Microwave and frig in the room. Two free newspapers every morning, either the Albuquerque Journal or USA Today. Free hot breakfast in the diningroom . . . not your typical free continental buffet breakfast either . . . instead eggs, hashbrowns, bacon, OJ, french toast served by a waitress. At 4pm free homemade soup in the diningroom and from 5 - 7 a discounted drink with lots of free snacks in their nice bar. All this at a very low room rate . . . what a bargain! Fires in the lobby and diningroom were a nice welcoming touch. Would rate our stay in this Quality Inn higher than a 5 if it were possible!

I am not sure you will find a better deal for the price and the price is very good. Full sit down breakfast, comfortable beds, clean rooms, friendly staff. The biggest downside is the age of the property, while it is appointed with wonderfully carved wooden panels, the whole place is in need of renovation and rejuvination. If you are looking for a high end establishment; try one of the many local bed and breakfasts. If you are traveling on a budget and with a family - this is your place.

Room Tip: The back side of the property was very quiet.

The lobby at this hotel is very nicely decorated and the hotel has an old ski lodge feel to it with a southwestern theme. There is a large breakfast room and the staff is very welcoming. We stayed on the first floor and our room had a door which opened to the outside of the hotel which was convenient. The room had old decor but the beds and linens were acceptable. Unfortunately there was another guest's hair on all the pillows in the room and cut fingernails or toenails on the edges of the box spring. Yuck! The side tables and dresser top also had sticky stuff on the surfaces. A deal breaker for this hotel.

We were welcomed by friendly staff into a tastefully decorated lobby with a fire in the fireplace. Parking was convenient, our room and bathroom were nice and the complimentary breakfast in the adjoining restaurant was wonderful. We will stay here again.

The Quality Inn was as-advertised. Good swimming pool and hot tub, decent free breakfast included. Mini-fridge and coffee maker in the room. But it is basic, nothing extra-nice.

We had a very good stay. The only down side is the distance from the center of town. Let's just say that it is too far to walk when you go out for a few drinks in the evening.

For the price relative to other hotels in Taos, it is a good deal.

Extremely outdated. Had to laugh as a piece of the lounge furniture was the same couch I had 25 years ago.

After waiting an hour for breakfast, that never arrived, we left. Took us letting the breakfast staff know that we hadn't even ordered after about 20 minutes then we had to let them know we still hadn't gotten our food after another 40 minutes. The staff at breakfast just seemed to be in a bad mood, rude, and clueless! We never went back for breakfast the other two mornings. Seems to be an issue as someone else wrote about a similar experience in their review.

I was glad to leave this hotel!

Breakfast at QI
Arrived early and were able to get our room within 10 minutes. the the facillity is clean, the employees friendly. The air conditioner in our room was inadequate. I pulled out the filter and it had a years worth of accumulation on it. I brought it to the attention of the front desk and they took care of it . After the air conditioning filter was cleaned everything was okay. We were in Room 103, which is 50 feet from the front desk, and there was absolutely no wifi service. Our room had a front and back door and the parking lot was 2 steps from my back door. The complimentary breakfast was good. There's a selection of 4 specific breakfasts. the only problem was for the 50 tables there were only 3 waitresses and 1 hostess who also bussed the tables I don't know if someone called in sick but they sure were short staffed. We didn't eat dinner here this trip but we have in the past. The dinners during the early bird special run from $7.95 to $8.95.
