“Nice Place!”
Reviewed 24 May 2014

My wife and I had a great stay at the Riverbend Hot Springs. The place is right on the Rio Grande and is charming. They have cozy public and private hot pools to soak in, at varying temperatures. The rooms were very reasonably priced and comfortable. And the staff is friendly and knowledgeable.

As far as I know, Riverbend has the only outdoor soaking pools in town. It definitely has the most beautiful setting and, above all, staff who really know the meaning of hospitality. I will definitely return.

Room Tip: The casita is great if you want to do your own cooking; it has a full kitchen and an enclosed patio...

Recently multiple friends told us how much they liked Riverbend Hot Springs, so we decided to try it. Much improved over the experience we had previously when it was a youth hostel! It is now totally different--catering to a quiet and tranquil atmosphere. We really enjoyed our over-night stay and will definitely be back next winter. We loved adding a private pool overlooking the Rio Grande in the morning when bird life was abundant.

We got the last room available! Thrilled
The rooms are small and cosy. We went into the pools in the evening and started with the warmest one and worked our way to the coolest pool which is not chilled by any means. Very comfy in all the different pools. A great place to relax and wind down. People came in for an after work dip. These waters are healing and therapeutic. You will not be disappointed.
The town of T or C is an artsy quirky place... Nice place to roam around, eat and have a long soak!
I want to go back.

The town of T or C is quirky and arty at best, or shabby and tacky at worst. Riverbend manages to be unique, unpretentious, comfortable, and attractive while still retaining a no-nonsense atmosphere much like T or C itself.

The best bargain is an overnight stay in one of the "artist" rooms. The cost of the room entitles up to two people to use any of the public pools from check-in (4:00 PM) to 10:00 PM, and the following morning from 8:00 AM until 10:00 AM. The artist rooms are small but cozy and well-designed to make maximum use of the available space; they are decorated with the work of a local artist-- a different artist in each room.

Spend any time on the property and you'll realize that the owners have got their act together, and they seem to have thought of everything. They've got outdoor heaters for cool nights, misters for hot days, combo locks on the entrances to the pools...and they've printed the combo on the waterproof wristbands that guests wear so you don't have to memorize it.

An unexpected pleasure after dark is the use of several lasers mounted on the rooftops; the laser light is diffracted so that the trees and shrubs look like zillions of green and blue fireflies are nesting in them...and some of the light beams reach all the way to the opposite bank of the Rio Grande River-- a truly magical effect.

The pools have different temperatures, so you are assured of finding one you like. All have a view of the Rio Grande, the water is crystal-clear, and the pools themselves are clean and in good repair.

In short, this place has everything we wanted, at a price we could afford. It's an excellent value.

This was a wonderful relaxing way to share time with my 72 year old sister. My husband who had business in another town, booked a room for us close to the pools so we didn't have far to walk. The room was lovely. The bed was comfortable. The pools relaxing. We used the "minnow" and a private one. The staff were all helpful and patient with us "old ladies" as we tottered about. We stayed an afternoon, evening and next morning. The other guests were pleasant and engaging. We sat in the courtyard that evening and it was cool but protected and not cold. The soft lighting and fountain murmuring enhanced the quiet beauty and peacefulness of the whole experience. When we asked about eating places we were directed to several. The 2 we picked (dinner & breakfast) were superb. Wonderful view. Totally restful. We'll come again.

among many additions, the gardening work is impressive. flowers, etc. everywhere to create a vibrant, lush atmosphere. the artists rooms are perfect, with the vaulted ceilings making them feel bigger than they are. nice touch is the recessed areas for the luggage rack so its out of the way. july here I come.

Room Tip: the suites are comfortable and the artist rooms perfect for two people.
