“Don't think twice...just go!”
Reviewed 27 October 2009

We just returned from spending the night at Sierra Grande Lodge & Spa. We booked the suite. The staff, in particular Robin and Marlene were very polite and helpful.
The room was clean and nicely decorated. The two person jetted steam tub was nice, although I would caution you to be careful entering the tub because of the slope and angle. The full-size bathroom had two sinks and the shower had two shower heads. The sitting room had a comfy sofa, leather chair and tv. We enjoyed access to the veranda from our room . It had a table and chairs and 2 chaise lounge chairs to enjoy the mountain view. You must be booked on this side of the lodge to use the veranda. The other side of the lodge has a rock garden view from the room window. The private baths were roomy, soothing and clean. There is a cool water only shower to rinse off with. There are robes in the rooms to use to go down to the spa. We felt they were somewhat worn out and the material was too light-weight to be prancing around in. You receive two 30 minutes soaks for a one night stay. It felt terrific. The temp of the spa was somewhere between 102-107 degrees. We checked out the message rooms and wish we had booked a message. We would definitely return and next time stay in one of the other rooms. I would not stay on the main floor due to activity near the rooms. The restaurant is in transition and closed. Breakfast in the morning was continental style. We ate dinner at Los Arcos Steak House. The best steaks we've eaten in a long time. We arrived there around 5pm and the place quickly filled up. We would recommend the restaurant. There isn't much happening in T or C, a few antique stores and art galleries. Elephant Butte Lake is nearby to enjoy most of the year. We went to Sierra Grande for relaxation and we weren't disappointed.

We absolutely loved Sierra Grande Lodge! Upon arrival, the person at the desk was so friendly and so very helpful. The room was just gorgeous. The food was great. And, the spa area was fantastic. I have never felt so pampered and so relaxed.....all of that in such a beautiful setting! We will definitely be back.

Hotel is very comfortable, but the best parts are the private hot springs baths. These were a sensual experience and allowed us to relax, getting way, with exceptional speed. Truth or Consequences is laid back with the downtown restaurants all within walking distance of the hotel. Breakfasts are cheap and filling if eating out. If at the hotel, homemade pasteries and granola. Best restaurant was Bellaluca. Great, fresh Italian food. Small , but good wine list. Reasonable costs. Every one in a service position went out of their way to create a good experience.

The Sierra Grande is a hidden gem nestled within the desert region of New Mexico. The hotel offers soaks to their guests each day of their stay including the departure date. My husband and I enjoyed the peaceful and romantic setting of the outdoor soak under the starry night sky. The bed mattress had to be one of the most comfortable I've ever slept on and we loved the bath amenities. I recommend a balcony room where you can enjoy the view out to the surrounding mountains and breakfast. If you are looking for a place of relaxation you have found it!

We have been visiting Sierra Grande since it opened and it has only gotten better with age each year like a good wine. When we arrive the staff are gracious and happy to see us, as we are to see them. Every detail and experience is perfection. Every trip has been a SWEET experience. Thank you for maintaining such a beautiful serene space. We could NOT have as happy existence without knowing we had someplace to come to and distress like the “Grande” our home away from home…Pat & Tom - El Paso TX

No hassles, staff is out of the way and at the same time totally present. Very excellent energy. Remember to soak, which is the feature of the hotel and its history.

The lodge is a great place for a weekend get away. We rented the Casita for 5 people. Its not as nicely decorated as the the rooms at the lodge. It has more of a a hippy vibe, but it was very roomy and comfortable. Loved the outdoor, private tub in the courtyard of the casita. It has a full kitchen and is agreat place for bringing you own food because there aren't many good dining options in the T or C area. Three of us had spa services. Two thought they might have had the best massage of their life. The breakfast, was good, but tended toward a bit too plain. For the price of lodging here, we expected a bit fancier breakfast. It is a very calm and relaxing place. Not appropriate for children.
