I have visited Oudemuragie twice already, once on my own and once with my teenage daughter. Situated not too far out of Oudtshoorn by scenic dirt road, you will come through the valleys and hills to discover a hidden gem lovingly run by Maggie as part of an operational farm. It is small, private and offers the most magnificent walks through mountains, or along the aloe ridge, or even through a birch forest next to the river. We even saw game and of course lovely bird life. Great sunsets can be enjoyed from your braai.
The cottages are old farm cottages upgraded and revamped and they offer everything you'd expect from a self-catering cottage. You can also expect some extra hospitality in the form of freshly baked bread or something else yummy.
They offer one pet friendly cottage. Our cottage had a lovely welcome fireplace too and good dry firewood was offered for sale.
If you really want to break away from the stresses and strains of city or a busy life, this is the place to come walk, sleep, read, sit, bird watch, sleep and rest some more.More
