“A slice of paradise indeed”

Xairu is a beautifully modern house with breathtaking views. The house features a lot of amenities and is extremely well maintained. Panorama windows give the house a very specious feel and the balcony provides amazing views of the ocean.

“Magnificent location with views from every room”
Reviewed 19 January 2014 for a stay in January 2014

We enjoyed a weekend stay with our children (ages 7 and 9) and their grandparents, and all 3 generations had a wonderful time. Xairu enjoys the most magnificent location, right above the rocky coastline, with spectacular views of the ocean and mountains from every single room (yes, even the bathrooms). A well-equipped and extremely comfortable home with everything you need in the kitchen, comfortable beds, good security and a thoughtful owner who has left detailed information in the house on the local restaurants, walks and other attractions. An easy walk to a safe tidal pool for kids as well as the small beach at Stanford Cove. Well placed for shark diving (spectacular!) and we watched a whale frolicking in the bay while sipping a G&T on the patio. Highly recommended, and excellent value for money.

Liked best: Spectacular location with outstanding views
Liked least: Hard to fault it - if I must, I guess they could have left a bit more in the way of soap and toilet paper supplies, or perhaps the option of a non-allergic duvet - but then it was my fault for not checking on this beforehand!

“Out of this world.”
Reviewed 31 December 2013 for a stay in December 2013

For the first time in my life, the photos on the internet did not exaggerate. This house on the ocean was absolute wonderful in every way. Luxury, comfort, views and lots of space for a family as well as a guest.. We were sad to leave.,

“Spectacular views”
Reviewed 3 October 2013 for a stay in September 2013

The house's location, overlooking Gans Bay, couldn't be better. You don't need to leave the living room to soak in the amazing views, punctuated periodically by whale's fins breaking the water. But of course you'll want to step out onto the glorious deck and enjoy the breeze coming off the ocean--and enjoy a sunset chardonnay. We spent a delightful two days here--our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer.

“On the Rocks !”
Reviewed 9 May 2013 for a stay in April 2013

We stayed at Xairu for 3 days during April. The house is well designed and beautifully furnished. Everything you expect from a luxury beach cottage. The views are splendid and the ocean is crashing on the rocks below. Easy distance to many interesting shops and restaurants. You will not regret it. (Please note that the coast is very rocky. Not any real swimming beaches within walking distance)

“Breathtaking views!”
Reviewed 4 April 2013 for a stay in March 2013

We stayed in Xairu with overseas family and it was a unforgettable experience! The house is proof that modern architecture can be beautiful, functional and cosy at the same time. The house features 3 good sized bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, a very well equipped kitchen and breath-taking sea views from every possible room! We will return in whale season so we can see them from the balconies!
The owners have created a very useful file with activities, information, restaurant idea etc which was very helpful. The town is only a short drive away and has a good supermarket and all other amenities required. There are several wine farms, restaurants and even a fantastic petting zoo/play park for the kids in the area and you can go shark cage diving if you feel adventurous. We went for a more child friendly sea excursion and saw a whale (out of season!) a school of dolphins (at least 20 of them really close!) penguins etc.
After all the excursions the house was a great safe haven of tranquillity to return to, with the soothing sea sounds and the spectacular sunsets making it an unforgettable experience!.
We had a whale of a time (yes pun intended!) and will definitely be back!
