the food is beyond delicious, every staff member friendly and attentive, the accommodation … inspirational, michael the most gracious and generous host - we loved it, again!

We spent a night at Grootbos in a group of 8- 3 generations with one member of our party physically challenged. The team at Grootbos went out of their way to ensure the physically challenged member had a room which accommodated his needs. Our guide, Jo, made us feel welcome from the get go and the nature drive was extremely educational. We stayed at the garden lodge in rooms 1,5 and 11 and each of the rooms had their charm. Waking up to uninterrupted views is an incomparable privilege. The food was exceptional with attention to detail and presentation. The staff were always willing to help with no request too much for them. I don't have a bad word to say about Grootbos and will recommend this to everybody. Only regret I have is not staying longer! Special mention to the waitering staff who were absolutely amazing.

Room Tip: All our rooms were great. Suite 5 has beautiful views and is a 2 bedroom delight for families. Suite 11 was more modern and the bedroom had the sea view (which suite 5 bedrooms didn't have).

Dear KB2905

It's always so wonedrful to learn something about the area that you live in. I'm sure your excursion out on the reserve with Jo has given you a new appreciation for the wonder of Fynbos. Something you can continue to appreciate living just "over the mountain". I'll be sure to pass on the encouraging comments to all the waitering staff here. They look forward to seeing you back again soon.

Sean

Incredible place. Beautiful location and private suites that are out of this world. We were there for a wedding and it was just a perfect place - just a shame it was only for 2 nights. We had a very special meal outside in a clearing in the trees where there were twisted roots covered in fairy lights and candles - a perfect setting for couple and romance! Can't wait to go back.

We stayed 4 nights last week in a pool villa at Forest Lodge. We arrived from Cape Town to a warm welcome and our guide Bongani explained all that was on offer.
We booked it all from fauna and flora open vehicle safaris, to morning walks, to community projects run and supported by Grootbos, to great white shark cage diving to a 1h20 min scenic flight over the tip of Africa. Activity experiences were world lass.
Service was local, charming and attentive especially in the 2 special dinner locations we did; one a private dinner in the wine cellar and the other by fairy lights under the stars in the forest. Very atmospheric and a welcome change from the dinning room.
Wine was well priced with a good selection by the glass l. The menu was tasty and creative using allot of locally sourced ingredients.
We are very well traveled and traditional safari lovers and Grootbos really delivered all round.
Cannot wait to return.

Dear Bankokian213

Wow! You certainly took part in so many of the activities on offer at Grootbos. The scenic flight must definitely have been a highlight. It's such a magnificient way to see the majesty of the rugged coastline and then to end off with a dinner under the canopy of lantern-lit Milkwood trees- sublime! We hope to see you again soon.

From Germany it's quite a distance (about 9000km), but the daily flight-prices are quite affordable. When u reach it, you'll be blown away!!! Service and accomodations are 100% luxury... I've actually never been to a place like this before. lonely beaches, without a crowd of people. JUST AWESOME

Room Tip: they have rooms for newlyweds, family with kids and couples and solos. all chalets are veeeery exclusive looking
