What a wonderful lodge to stay in!!

I was in Botswana for my honeymoon, and Ghoha Hills was our second stop. The first thing that impressed my husband and I was how beautiful the place is! It is set on a hill and there is a breathtaking view of the land below, including a water hole where animals come to drink at various times of the day. The lodge is beautifully and very tastefully decorated as well.

The service was first class! The staff are so warm and so welcoming, and they really make you feel like you are at home. They really make the effort to cater to your every need. The room was very comfortable and clean, with a good view of the scenery with a mesh screen to protect from any bugs. The host and hostess, Abram and Nanette, are such lovely people, and so engaging and wonderful to talk to. The food was absolutely fantastic! The guides are very knowledgeable and our guide, Vasco, brought us to many great places to see many animals.

Overall, while I'd say that while this lodge is very remote, being about 45 minutes away from the airstrip, it is my favourite lodge out of all the lodges that I stayed at because of the warmth and hospitality from the staff there.

Hi

Firstly, congrats again on your wedding. Our location is naturally romantic, which I'm sure pleased you and your husband. Thank you so much for your kind words. We're very passionate about creating a safari paradise that is about more than just game viewing!

We love to cook - gourmet food warms the heart and the stomach! And we're happy you enjoyed our meals. Our beautiful lodge is complemented by our warm atmosphere, which is very important to us and the team. We're glad you had a successful game viewing experience and enjoyed a luxurious experience.

This lodge is set on the highest mountain (Goha Hill) in the area and therefore has a spectacular view of the Savuti Plains. The rooms are luxurious, each with its own terrace, shower, toilet and sinks. All electricity is from solar panels. The internet is available only in the lodge. What we enjoyed most about this lodge is the staff. Nanette is a gracious hostess and we were treated like family by all the staff, including our wonderful guide Bafana. Bafana took us on morning and evening game drives, was our host for sundowners at a beautiful baobob tree, and we even saw two bat eared foxes by the road one day. The staff treated us to a barbeque dinner one night and gave us a singing concert of African music and songs the next. The food was excellent, well prepared and delicious. I highly recommend a stay at Goha Hills as part of a Botswana safari vacation.

This lodge is remote and located on a small hilltop which overlooks a watering hole The lodge itself is luxurious and there is a great view of the plain below and the aforementioned watering hole where one frequently sees elephants and giraffes come to drink. The facility is a good size and our rooms were deluxe with mesh screens that allowed us protection from the outside, but still a view of the plains below.

The Ghoha Hills Lodge is extremely well run by the host and hostess Abraham and Nannette. They were extraordinarily welcoming and interested in our every need. You can tell that they run a “tight ship” and keep all of their employees well trained while at the same time being a very caring couple. Nanette offered Paula the use of her personal telephone because of a family emergency we had and was genuinely concerned about our situation. The staff was efficient, very friendly and attended to our every need. Nanette and Abram are a very engaging couple and we had many very interesting conversations. The food was consistently excellent. I would give the host and hostess an A+ and the lodge an A.

As far as animal sighting we did in fact see quite a few animals. Ghoha Lodge is farther from the game than some otherLodges but I would definitely prefer the Ghoha to other lodges that might be closer to all of the game. You probably drive 30 to 60 minutes before you see a lot of game. Regarding the game, we saw lions, elephants, giraffes, impala, gazelle, Kudu, wildebeest, ostriches, and lots of zebras. I would rate the game viewing as an A.

The Ghoha Lodge has it all but it is Abraham and Nanette that make the difference.

Room tip: All rooms have great views of the valley and watering hole.

Hi

We really appreciate the time you took to write such a detailed review about our lodge. We are very lucky to be located on a hill overlooking a thriving waterhole. With such perfect views and great game viewing, we decided we had to have a lodge which offered the same level of magic.

Our rooms have designed to take advantage of the views and it was our aim to keep guests safe but not spoil their "wild" experience! We have to run a tight ship to keep everything perfect and running smoothly -we can never rest and constantly want the best. And as for the personal telephone? Well, family is more important than the cost of a phone call!

A safari is about the entire experience and atmosphere. But for us, we want our guests to feel at home and part of the family.

Thanks again!

What a fabulous experience! Such a beautiful lodge, with such an outstanding view. The staff were all very helpful, friendly and very considerate. The food was absolutely delicious. It is truly one of my favourite lodges in Botswana. You can happily spend the whole day on the veranda and watch what passes to the waterhole, and their was also some lovely birding. Definitely recommend this stunning and secluded place to anyone.

Hi There

Thanks for posting your review. Yes, our lodge is certainly the spot to put your feet up and stare into the endless horizon. So much happens in front of our lodge and plenty of game viewing can be done from the verandah! We work really hard at updating our menu and only want to offer the best food to our guests. So happy that you appreciated everything!

From the moment we arrived, Nanette and Abram made us feel welcome as friends. They are the most charming and thoughtful couple who have made this the most special place. it is quite magical to find such a gorgeous lodge miles from anywhere with Possibly the best views in Botswana. Food was delicious, great wines and we learned so much from Abram both in conversation and in his excellent lecture to us. The ambiance was of a house party which we didn't want to leave! Thank you for a wonderful, memorable stay. I hope we will return.

Hi Maureen

Thanks so much for the positive reviews regarding the people behind the scenes! Atmosphere and people are paramount to the success of our lodge.

We are VERY lucky to be located in such a prime position and we love nothing more than to share the magic with guests like yourself.

When you're passionate about what you do, the ambience comes naturally to a lodge!

Warm regards
