I have visited the Chequers Inn on a few occasions and every visit has been a truly special experience. The staff are always friendly and the food is amazing. I can not fault my experience in any way and will definitely be visiting again.

I love everything about The Chequers Inn. The staff make you so welcome you feel like you have known them all for years! As a family we had lunch in the bar area, it had a great varied menu with also a great wine list. The service was fantastic, and the food was delicious.
They found out we were they for a special occasion, and the head chief even came out with a cake decorated with a personalised congratulations messages!! A great touch to a lovely lunch.
The Chequers Inn has a great atmosphere and the staff take great pride in everything they do, all areas are well presented and extremely clean. Would definitely recommend you visit this fantastic restaurant and Will certainly be returning for every special occasion in the future
Warm Regards

At the time of booking I was aware there was a dress code (no flip-flops or sports clothes, the confirming e mail said) but we were initially upset when denied access to the restaurant because one of our party was wearing shorts (she was seven months pregnant, they were not sports-wear and really the only clothes she felt comfortable in on a very hot day). This was not a good start! We were there for a special occasion, my father, a regular at the bar for years died last year and later in the day we were going to inter his ashes in the churchyard - we wanted to celebrate his very long life with a family meal.

They did move furniture around in the bar so we could eat there but this was surely inconvenient for all the regulars when a large party took up almost all the space. The food was only average, some steaks cooked nicely but other meat over cooked and dry, sauces poorly seasoned. The service was slow. Although we were the first party to arrive that lunchtime it was an hour and a half before the first course was served and the main course served in such a way that some received their dishes long before others. It was also very expensive for such unremarkable fare.

I have had lunch there many times when my father was alive and enjoyed the food but the difficulties on our arrival, the average food and slow erratic service was all very disappointing and not good value at over £600

To not be treated as just 'another customer', to be made warmly welcome, to receive exceptional caring, non-intrusive and efficient service, to have waiters who obviously enjoy and take great pride in what they are doing, a relaxed and pleasant ambience and well presented delicious food...WOW...such a luxury! So many restaurants tick some of the boxes but The Chequers Inn ticked them all.

We had our family reunion dinner here and every one of us, ages ranging from 6 to 70, LOVED their meal. That is an amazing achievment to please so may differnt ages and palettes. The desserts were also uttely to die for and we'd come back here just to work through their dessert menu... WOW!
The owners of this lovely old local food pub are incredibly welcoming and go out of their way to look after their guests. Top it off with such incredibly tasty food and you have the perfect restaurant. Thank you so much Ranka , Dritan and your team for helping make our family reunion dinner a perfect gastronomic occasion .
