We came here for the tasting menu to celebrate our 1yr wedding anniversary. They made our evening feel so special and we were treated to some truffles and a card congratulating us on the table. The staff were wonderful and explained each course to us as they came out. The food tasted amazing and was presented beautifully. The whole experience was perfect and we will definitely be back.

We have been regular diners at The Chequers, always enjoying the excellent food with some inventive twists from the clearly talented chefs, served by some delightful front of house staff. The overall experience is wonderful and good value, given the quality of the dishes and the service provided. We were really looking forward to the recent Austro-Hungarian event and were really impressed. The 6 tasting courses with accompanying wine were superb. Variations on traditional dishes and wines from Countries we had never tried before made for a delightful evening, enhanced by Ferenc, the Hungarian master of ceremonies, who was both witty and informative. Another excellent dining experience at one of our favourite restaurants.

Stunning tasting menu! Visited for Hubbys birthday and it was the most amazing meal ever.
Every bit of the service was impeccable m, friendly and down to earth.
We didn’t want to see the menu beforehand and instead asked after each dish of a summary of what we had eaten-it was funny, caused a lot of conversation and made the meal even more exciting, plus we couldn’t make judgement if there was something we didnt like!
Every dish was stunning and Cooke perfectly and the beef that was just a dream!!!
Wouldn’t hesitate to return back there. Thanks everyone for making a birthday very special!!
