We booked an indulgence day for my Nan's 80th birthday present, we had a wonderful day. I am 35 weeks pregnant and found the pregnancy massage very relaxing and would recommend to anyone, also this is only a 55 minute treatment, they arranged for me to have a file and polish too to take this upto the 85min treatment package as part of the spa day, I thought this was a great extra. My Nan had the full aromatherapy massage and "it was the best massage" she had ever had. We had use off the pool and jacuzzi which my Nan absolutely loved. The 2 course lunch was absolutely beautiful. The service was faultless, very accommodating and all our beauty therapists were very attentive to our needs. Highly recommend and will go back again. Thank you for a great day.

I am 39 weeks pregnant and my partner and I thought it would be nice to make use of our Christmas present before bump arrives. Being so local to us was a big bonus hence why we were able to go so late into my pregnancy.
I'm afraid I was disappointed. I was allocated a locker which was a ground level one, given lockers are narrow it was hard to manoeuvre my bag etc over my big 39 week bump in and out without working up a sweat! A top locker would have been more appropriate/far easier.
When I made it out to the pool we were slightly disappointed to find there were no spare loungers. A lovely lady offered hers up given my 'condition' and we were able to sit together which was incredibly kind. She had heard me call reception asking what they do under such circumstances ( they tell you to call for anything you need), I was advised I would have to wait until one was available. Had it been any busier I'm not sure what I would have done given the only facilities I could use was the swimming pool and its loungers. The pool only had about 6 people in it, which made it 'busy' any more and you would need to swim round people/give way. Its a Monday afternoon so I'm assuming its an off peak time.
You are issued with one towel and a dressing gown - I would advise you to ask for two towels, one to use around the pool and then a dry one for once you have showered. I think they like to cater for pregnant people but in reality they don't. Especially for those that are later on in their pregnancy or are limited by the physical restrictions it brings. All of the benches and stools/loungers etc in the changing rooms and around the pool are all very low so not ideal for sitting with a big bump (its bad for you to recline on your back when pregnant), or ideal for getting up and down.
I had also booked in for a pregnancy massage. I assumed this would be on a bench catering for pregnancy ie one with a hole for bump and boobs which is what I've enjoyed previously - however it was on a normal beauticians bed and you were to lay on your side with an A pillow as comfort. The girl who massaged me would have been perfect for non pregnant me, and if I was lying on my front - however being on my side left some muscles relaxed in my left shoulder and she really went to work having convinced herself they were knots, it felt like when people do the elbow trick in your thigh, I didn't say anything because I assumed she would give in, I was quite wrong! - so I've sadly come away with a very sore shoulder when I had no ailments at all on arrival! Having my legs and face massaged was utter bliss and she was clearly good at her job, but I had to lay on my back for this, which again is not ideal in the heavier stages of pregnancy. I think they should make you aware prior to booking that they accommodate pregnant ladies in so far as they are welcome but there is nothing specifically in place or invested in to make it as comfortable as you might be if you were not pregnant.
Its a real shame as I was really looking forward to such a treat.
I am not one for complaining and genuinely always see the best in places (we spend our wedding night at hartwell house and I can not fault the hotel as a place to stay), but I was definitely deflated rather than revitalised by the whole experience and would find it hard to recommend to any other pregnant person.
