On the 8th of June I came with my daughter-in-law and grandson, aged 20 months, who was looking forward very much to seeing the animals (we had been before and he loved it). We passed the sign to tell us it was o p e n for visitors, parked up and walked towards the animals. Then this women came out of the house, waving her arms around and shouting at us: "Get out now, we are not open. I had 3 hours sleep, etc" - very unpleasant. We were absolutely stunned and left with a very sad little boy. What a way to run a business!!

These people are awful. In spite of what the website says we couldn't get any food for the children at 4.00, despite assurances by phone that food would be available. Mrs. Cherry, who sent such charming emails (looking forward to meeting you etc), didn't appear, but left the business side to teenagers. They left the building open to all-comers for part of the evening, during which time the dogs barked incessantly from the kitchen. We felt very nervous and vulnerable - anyone could have come in, and the location is very remote.
The rooms were clean, which is the only positive aspect of this place.

Aside from turning up to discover that our booking had not been made (despite a reservation, a cashed deposit and 2 calls to confirm) we then were kept awake until 6am by the rowdy owners who threw a party underneath the B & B accomodation. Not only that, but then promptly fell asleep in their PJs and was incredulous to hear we expected breakfast.

Rude, arrogant and wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

The situation is absolutely lovely; just be careful of your undercarriage as you go up the first part of the lane. If you're uncomfortable with excited dogs the loose dobermans are a bit much. We self-catered and had a problem with description, as what we call a one-bedroomed place with a bed/settee in a sitting room; they called a two bedroomed. I would describe the accommodation as just ok and I'm not fussy.
There is a list of cleaning requirements for guests to complete before handing back the key; these include: wiping out the fridge and cooker top; cleaning the basins and toilets with the stuff provided and vacuuming! They reserve the right to charge an extra £50 for non-compliance. I photographed it as I didn't think anyone would believe me.
Make sure you get everything in writing; we didn't, and it led to problems. The final bill was simply my switch receipt. They, unknown to me, had forgotten to put something on it. Rather than ring and apologise they came after us in their pickup.
I wouldn't return nor would I recommend this place at all, which is a shame as its potential is great.
