If you haven't been to this area then run to this B&B. Not only is the view breathtaking but Kurt and Alan are the most gracious hosts we have come across who run a B&B. They have a ritual that I haven't experienced at another B&B and absolutely loved it. At 5pm they have hors d'oeuvres with all the guests gathered around on the deck. It is a great chance to meet the other guests and everyone to chat with each other. Alan and Kurt have great stories themselves which just adds to the fun. It is also the time that Kurt takes your breakfast order (more on that later)
Walking up from the parking area to the deck where you enter the house is nothing short of spectacular. You are high above the Delaware River and can see for miles all around. I can only imagine what the view must be like during the fall foliage season.
The inside of the house is beautiful. We stayed on the first floor in the Sunset I room where it was spacious with a very nice bathroom.
Breakfast is excellent with a wide selection of choices. And of course, visiting when it is warm takes the breakfast up a notch as you are sitting on the deck looking at the views. I won't spoil it (as someone almost did for us and Kurt almost had their head) but you want to stay for Sunday breakfast as there are specials only served then.
The last thing I will say is that Alan and Kurt pay particular attention to detail. My wife made the arrangements and mentioned it was a belated birthday celebration. Upon entering our room we saw a tray with 2 champagne glasses, a small bottle of champagne and a note wishing her a belated birthday. Later in our stay I mentioned to Alan my wife needed some Q-tips. Not only did he say there were some in the kit in the bathroom, but later in the day she had extras!!!
We have been to several B&B's over the years in many different parts of the area and country and have to say this one is the best - from the views to the hosts to the wonderful breakfast. You won't go wrong!!!
