It use to be nice to go to Bear Mountain Park located near Bear Mountain Inn about 10 years ago. That was until a couple years ago they raised the price of parking from $2.00 to $5.00. Who knows how much it is now. They have a little "zoo" that houses some animals that are local to the area. They now charge admission! For what?! To see a fox, some snakes, swans, and a bald eagle! The park also has vandalism and gang symbols spray painted in various tunnels and on benches. They do have an outdoor ice skating rink that is seasonal. They do have a beautiful lake but why do I have to pay $5.00 to see it? I thought State Parks are for the tax paying citizens of the state to enjoy when they get a day off from work! Now you can't even sit at a picnic bench and get a breath of fresh air for free!
