“We go every year. ”
Reviewed 28 June 2014 via mobile

Can't wait until we go again. Family and friends from all around call and can't wait to go here. We try to arrive early in the morning to get a good bbq/picnic location. We always leave late and don't get good spots. We still have fun and bbq. Then we go to the huge swimming pool they have. 20 friends and fam all go to the pool at the same time. What a great time we have at this park. This year we'll go on a long hike. Can't wait. We always bring to much food. Tips. Walmart and Bjs are about 10 miles west just incase you forget to bring something. Get there as early as possible to get the best location. Bring bug spray. Bring sun block. Have fun.

“Beautiful state park with lovely lodge buildings on sight”
Reviewed 27 June 2014

Stopped by Bear mountain State Park while on a trip to the Hudson valley. Lovely park with lakes, hiking, trails. There's an inn, lodge, carousel, ice skating. There is no charge to enter the park, but there is a fee to park. Beautiful park.

“A Break from City Life”
Reviewed 24 June 2014

Bear Mountain State Park is about 50 miles North of Manhattan, NYC, overlooking the Hudson River and Bear Mountain Suspension Bridge. It includes hiking trails, a small nature trail and zoo, historic markings trails and museums, a large swimming pool, fishing on Hessian Lake, lots of trees and the historic but recently renovated Bear Mountain Inn and Overlook Lodge are available for rooms and restaurant. This is really ideal for families with children. Canoes and paddle boats available for the lake. The entry fee is $8 for parking.

“Restored Inn and Restaurant”
Reviewed 23 June 2014

We had a Sunday Brunch at the historic Bear Mountain Inn. It's a lovely old building that was recently restored in Bear Mountain State Park. We did not stay at the Inn, just had brunch, but the park was filled with visitors who can swim, hike, camp, etc. They have a buffet brunch or individual items. The brunch was $15.95 per adult, less for kids. I chose a hamburger which was organic and cooked to order. Rare, which is the only way I will eat them. The server was very proud of their burger meat. You know it's good if they cook it to order! Adults can have a mimosa or Bloody Mary, which is included in the price. Service was excellent and we were not rushed at all.
