“A nice side trip if you are in area.”

We went on a Sunday and it was OK. You can take a tour and sample their liquiors. We generally use top shelf spirits so I am probably being a little hard on them. There spirits were OK. The backroom tour was interesting. They do have a bar where you can try their spirits in cocktails.

“Local places to stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 September 2013

I recently stayed at Happy Days Campground (best place to stay in area) just up the street, and was directed to The Dancing Cat/Catskill Distilling. The food was excellent, the beer COLD, and the tasters from the accompanying distillery were great. Our waitress was wonderful and extremely helpful! She gave us suggestions and directions to other local attractions. Prices reasonable and atmosphere delightful. We were there on a fall day and sat outside. We toured the distillery and the brew master showed us around and explained the process to just the four of us.

“Enjoyed both Distillery & Dancing Cat Saloon”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 September 2013

Excellent small batch spirits, with hand-crafted cocktails meant to showcase their wares. Having only been to wineries or brewpubs before, I decided to sample several cocktails. Fresh ingredients were featured in all recipes; the cucumber for gin drink was peeled and sliced when I ordered it. I was not a bourbon drinker before trying Righteous Bourbon, but I am now. We did not buy nearly enough of this and are already running short. Made the maple bourbon old-fashioned for friends who also loved it. Purchased Curious Gin as well. Will return and buy more than on first visit! Both restaurant and distillery are attractive, clean spaces with original artwork, including woodcarvings. Good craft beer on tap at both, too.

“Go for the vodka, not the tour!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 August 2013

On a Thurs morning I called, and was told - sure just show up after 2pm for a tour & tasting. We arrived @ 4pm, were greeted by April, and she happily offered us drinks. $3 for liquor samples and about $8-10 for cocktails. But there was no tour to be had. She said I could go take a look at the distillery, which I did and it is beautiful, but don't expect the red carpet treatment.

With THAT out of the way - the PEACE VODKA is worth the trip. Buckwheat spirit was too weird for me, but the sweetness and almost butter-like quality of the vodka is a shining star in my books! Yum!

And they serve a cocktail w. their gin & cucumber soda that is divine!
