“The Best Location and the Friendliest Welcome”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 July 2011

Drove up from NYC intending to stay a couple of nights but ended up extending our stay because everything was so fantastic. Carol, Alene and Kathy are really great and made our family so welcome. The brunch is the best you'll find and nothing beats an evening sitting round your own fire pit whilst cooking on the BBQ.

Also my wife left her phone behind when we left and later that day Alene contacted us to let us know and then posted it on to us.

Great people, great place - Will be back next time we cross the Atlantic, thanks.

This is the third year that we have made Prospect Point and Fir cottage our base camp location for our snow shoeing w/e. It continues to be an Adirondack gem. The cottage is built and decorated as an Adirondack cottage should be. Everything was neat, clean and ready to go including plenty of wood for our first evening's fire. Each morning we were presented with a masterful assortment of hearty breakfast fare and with the special treat this year of an omlette station. Just what "Three hairy guys" need to start their snow shoeing day. All the folks at PPC, Carol, Alene, Kathy, Donnie and Ashley couldn't be more accommodating. And this year we had the special treat of meeting and talking with the owners at breakfast. Now we know that PPC will continue to honor both Adirondack traditions and Native American culture making PPC a very special place. Prospect Point cottage is a beautiful place for a real Adirondack get away. We'll be back next year...looking forward to being there already!!!

The three of us guys have been returning to the Fir cottage at Prospect Point for three years now, for a winter snow shoe getaway weekend in the Adirondacks. We just booked again for 2012. The cozy and clean Adirondack cabin with fireplace/split wood and equipped kitchen on Blue Mountain Lake can't be beat for a winter getaway if you like things quiet. The winter breakfasts in the main lodge are not only huge and delicious (the muffins are to die for) but the staff is always very accommodating and a hoot to be around. We just love it at Prospect Point and have made it a tradition to return every March.

This was a fabulous place to stay with 4 young children! The cottage was very clean and well maintained. The staff was warm and friendly, we felt like part of the Prospect Point Family! The staff was very helpful and ready to assist in any way we asked. The children loved the beach, play area and canoeing on the lake with dad! We enjoyed toasting S'mores, sitting by the fireplace, playing in the sand and at the playground, canoeing and hiking! Plus all the beautiful things to see in the area. We are not avid campers and this was the way to go....everything already there and set up for you all you do is bring your food and family they provided everything else so we could have fun! Thanks Prospect Point Staff for making our family getaway a relaxing and memorable one! God bless you and yours. The George Family

Prospect Point Cottages is a fabulous place to get away from the hustle-bustle of life. The cottages are located in Blue Mountain Lake, a quiet village in the heart of the Adirondacks, and are conveniently located for short day trips to Raquette Lake, Tuppper Lake, Saranac Lake, and Lake Placid. Our cottage (Bear) was decorated with lots of nice Adirondack touches and featured a comfy living/dining room with satellite TV, fireplace, kitchen stocked with cookware, dishes, and eating utensils, well-appointed bathroom, and private bedroom with comfortable bed. We also had a front porch and private firepit -- both with adirondack chairs -- to enjoy. We went right before the beginning of the summer season (June 13-18) and enjoyed 1 night free with 4 paid nights, and this availed us to not only a great nightly rate, but also a fabulous brunch each morning (served 9-11 a.m.), which is provided to guests in the fall, winter, and spring seasons in the central lodge. We ate enough food each morning to last until dinner time! There are also complimentary canoes, paddleboats, and kayaks for guests to use on the gorgeous lake. Best of all was the great staff. Carol and Alene are a joy and kept us chuckling with their terrific wit. We will definitely come back!!
