“went above and beyond!”
Reviewed 27 April 2012

I just recently stayed at prospect point with a group of my closest friends and we were blown away! We had originally booked the helmlock cottage, but due to a malfunctioning sink we were upgraded at no extra charge to their most private and beautiful cabin the redview. I was blown away at the beauty of this place. Our cottage had a beautiful veiw of the lakes and mountains. The lake was literally steps from our own private deck. We enjoyed a 5 star beakfest the two days that we were there. Omelets, French toast, walffuls pancakes hasbrowns, fresh fruit you name it they had it! We will definitely be returning!

Visited Prospect Point Cottages for the second time in November 2011. All I can say is that the experience was awesome. Our unit "Bear" was spotlessly clean. Nice fireplace and really thoughtful decor. Upon arrival I was told that the "normal" included breakfast might be a problem because they hadn't had time to go shopping. The receptionist told me that they could rustle up an egg or something. That was fine for me, as breakfast isn't really my thing. The next morning, after being fed blueberry waffles, bacon, home-fries, danish, muffins, juice, cereal and coffee, I had to wonder what the "normal" breakfast was!! When I mentioned how clean the unit was to the manager Carol, she responded "Well if WE wouldn't want to sleep in it ourselves, why would we expect YOU to PAY to sleep in it."
Don't you wish ALL hotel managers operated with this philosophy??
Do yourself a favor. Stay at Prospect Point Cottages.

Room Tip: I've stayed in the lodge and in a cabin. Both outstanding.

We spent three nights at the beginning of October at Prospect Point in Poplar cottage. It was exactly what I was looking for- beautiful scenery, relaxing, private, friendly and accommodating. Poplar cottage was nice because the big trees on either side made it feel very secluded when sitting in the back by the fire pit. Homemade breakfast each morning was delicious and the staff was so warm and friendly. We filled our days by exploring the lake by canoe (boats and equipment provided by prospect point) and hiking a few of the many nearby trails (Castle rock hike is a must!). There isn't much to do in town but we enjoyed each night by building a campfire, dinner on the grill, and enjoying our awesome lake view. I would definitely come back to Prospect Point!

This was a good home base for traveling around the Adirondacks. The cottage was fully furnished, including pots, pans, and dish washing soap. The fire ring was nice for the campfires at night, and they furnished the wood! Be sure to get some when you check in and put it under your porch so it stays dry. There is a nice quiet time from 10pm-8am. It reminds of cottages my family used to stay in in the 60's. There is no breakfast served.

Room Tip: All of the cottages next to the water are identical, and none of them are on the beach.

We stayed for four nights at the end of September-early October. Our cottage (Hemlock) was just about perfect. Spotlessly clean, beautiful linens, large bathroom, very private fire ring and wonderful view of the lake. The staff was excellent...friendly, helpful, terrific at their jobs. The breakfast was huge and very tasty. We definitely recommend this place. A couple of little items...on the website it lists free wireless internet under the amenities. But it neglects to say that it is only available up at the lodge, which is a bit of a distance from the cottage we were in. They need to change that. Also, it was rainy and cold part of the time we were there, so we were forced to stay inside for the day. The furniture in the living area was not comfortable-no ottoman, no recliners, uncomfortable day bed for a couch. It needs some better places to sit and read. But these are very small things. We plan on returning!

Room Tip: Hemlock is the most private, but also the furthest away from the breakfast area.

Very nice owners and a nice spot to stay. I would advise against booking a lodge. One house is divided in 3 lodges so loud neighbours are very annoying (we had people upstairs who seemed to move their furniture around 24/7.) very good breakfast!

Last year was our first trip to the Adirondacks and to Blue Mountain Lake having stayed just one night. We had not seen PPC previously but their informative website made me want to give it a try this year. The draw for us was the proximity to the water with free use of the canoes and a fireplace besides an outdoor firepit. It was hard to get a weekend reservation even after Labor Day so we reserved Bear Cottage in the lodge for 2 weeknights. Our cottage was very clean, comfortable, and absolutely darling! We had a great view of their dock and the spectacular gardens that Carol tends so lovingly. We really enjoyed canoeing on the lake, touring Great Camp Sagamore, visiting the Adirondack Museum during the rustic furniture show, and taking the 3 lake historic boat tour that took off just around the corner! Of course sitting on our porch or the water's edge was a time for much needed relaxation! Unfortunately we were not there for the gourmet breakfast which begins in October but maybe we'll get back this winter to try out the snowshoes we seldomly use! If not...can't wait to see you next Fall!

Room Tip: Not all cottages have a fireplace. Some cottages are on the water. The lodge accomodations are great...
