We are summer residents on Lake George and have supported this restaurant throughout the whole summer season. The reason we frequent this restaurant is for live music on Sunday evenings. Last night my family wanted to see Bobby Kendall for his last show of the season. We arrived and were seated quickly, it was not very busy. They seated us at a dirty table and it took over 25 minutes for a waitress to approach us. We explained that we just wanted to order alcohol and desserts. She took our order for drinks and came back over ten minutes later with a single water. She became very irritated, when for a second time, we said we just wanted alcohol and desserts. The owner came over and told my husband that it wasn't their policy to allow people to only order drinks where the live music was being performed. My husband stood up and followed the owner to try and speak with him (it was very loud with the music). The owner just walked away from him and offered no solution. We decided to leave and took our business to The Sagamore Lake House. They allowed us to just order drinks, listen to the music, watch the fireworks and the annual Christmas Boat Parade! A pleasant end to an evening that started badly:)

“Avoid if possible”

We went to Frederick's on a suggestion from a friend. Perhaps they were having a bad night. I sincerely hope that was the case. However, it wasn't overly crowded. There were 9 patrons at the bar and a couple who were seated inside. We were a party of 5 seated on the deck with approximately 70 other patrons.
The service was pleasant but dreadfully slow. It took an hour and 15 minutes to make it through the appetizers to the main course. The hot artichoke and spinach dip was oily and runny. Definitely not worth the wait. The mozzerella sticks were ok as was the shrimp cocktail. I asked the waitress about the consistancy of the coctail sauce. It was similar to apple sauce yet a little more firm. She asked the kitchen and they said it didn't contain apple sauce but offered no further explanation. It definitely wasn't horse radish and ketchup.
My daughter and I had shrimp and scallops over linguine. The seafood portion was way overcooked. Both items were very dry. My wife had ordered a greek salad with chicken. I came as a pile of greens and tomatoes with chicken on top. The chicken was dry and and there wasn't a speck of feta to be found anywhere. We also ordered a childs protion of spaghetti. Somebody should should have mentioned it"s supposed to be drained before being served. The chicken fingers were fine.
Bottomline........we wont go back.

“Frederick's the Not So Great.”

Anyone who thinks this is a great restaurant needs to get out more.

Food is passable if you keep it simple. Reuben sandwich is good. French fries were obviously frozen. Pass on dessert.

“Great Meal”
Reviewed 10 August 2006

Located at the end of Main Street in Bolton Landing Village. Side of building abuts the grand Union Parking Lot.(no windows on that side of building). Good varity on the menu seafood. pasta, Steak, Italian. I had scallops and Pasta which were about $18. My husband had Veal Parm about the same price. Both were very tasty. Some of the higher priced items were $20. They had a sandwich menu that they serve during dinner as which is nice if some are hungry while others are not. They had a large selection on the children's menu as well. Most of these items were priced about $7. Had delicious homemade bread as well. Atomosphere was very relaxing. Service was excellent.
