“Cosy, friendly, lovely period decor, good breakfast”
Reviewed 30 November 2010

This place was quiet, had lovely period decor with a great welcoming open wood fire in the sitting room. The room was clean, the beds were comfy. The shared bathroom was really pleasant with a big bath that the kids enjoyed,

The breakfast was simple, generous and basically great. Our host was really friendly and accomodating - for example we ordered take out, and she was happy to provide plates and silverware so we could eat our dinner in the dining room which is generally just for breakfast.

And great value for 2 adults and 2 kids to stay and have breakfast for $70!

The town is small and really nice.

So all in all, we're really glad we broke our journey in Boonville at stayed at this place.

Terry is a wonderful proprietor. The house is lovely and clean. If you are doing outdoor activities, Terry understands and doesn't mind the daily mud and mess. Breakfast is hearty and tasty; you get a choice and you can choose as much as you can eat.

If you are awoken during the night by a klaxon louder than any you can imagine, don't worry, that's the fire alarm calling volunteers from miles around. The town is a throw back, with tiny civic parades, one cop car, and even teenagers saying, "Hi!" to strangers. The B & B doesn't have locks on the room doors (but you can chain yourself in), and you may have to share an adjoining bathroom, which can be latched to keep the other person from the bathroom but can't be latched to keep them from your bedroom.

The nearest McDonalds is 25 miles away, but the chinese place on route 12 is very good, and there are other restaurants very nearby, as well as a grocery. You can access the B & B microwave at any time, along with utensils, plates, bowls and cups. Tea and hot chocolate are available at any time. There is also a TINY fridge--but don't plan on preparing or storing any meals--even frozen dinners are too large for the fridge. I think only one bedroom and the main lounge have TVs, so be sure to bring something to keep you entertained.

A LOVELY place, HIGHLY recommended!!

It was about the only place we could find in the area, and it's really charming. The beds were comfortable. It was clean and beautiful, well appointed with lots of curious knicknacks to look at. The breakfast was excellent, and the owner was very pleasant and welcoming. We had a great stay,

This inn turned out to be a pleasant surprise. With very few lodging options in the area, we felt lucky to get a recommendation for this place. It turned out to be even better than we expected. The location is perfect for cross country skiing, set right in the tug hill area, it is just minutes from the beautiful BREIA trail system. The inn itself is small and cozy and adorned with some beautiful antique fixtures and fireplaces. Every room has its own working fireplace. Having maximum capacity of maybe ten people, it feels much homier than some B &B’s. However, when we were there, there were only three other guests. The couple who owns the inn is delightful and so helpful with information about the area. A full, delicious breakfast is served every morning. Every night breakfast menus are placed in your room and you can select what items you’d like in the morning. Their ham and egg casserole was excellent!
