Description: In 2001 Jason Weiner and Eric Lemonides opened Almond. Almond quickly became the "un-Hamptons" restaurant the Hamptons desperately needed. Jason's commitment to straight forward, locally sourced cuisine and Eric's commitment to being nice to people soon garnered a fiercely loyal following for the restaurant. Almond quickly became a go-to spot in the Hamptons for locals, celebrities, tourists, and fellow restaurateurs. The critics caught on as well. Almond garnered accolades from such esteemed publications as Wine Spectator and the New York Times. Fast-forward 10 years and the iconic Hamptons French bistro enters a new era in a new location in downtown Bridgehampton. Almonds new home is a historic space with 100-year-old tin ceilings, hand carved bar and classic white subway tile. Jason continues to cook good food and Eric is still nice to people. They also haven't lost their knack for sucking up to food journalists. Peter Gianotti of Newsday awarded the new spot three stars and named Almond the Best New Restaurant of 2011

Went on a Monday night, not busy. Took waiter over 1 hour to take our order! Once we got our food it was excellent. Lived the 1/2 portion size. Very loud but excellent food

This is a very welcoming, bustling place, a bit on the noisy side for our taste, lively and inventive bar. Eric loves to show off new drinks and makes the rounds to the tables. Service can be a little harried, food is always good, generous and any problem is quickly taken care of. Case in point, this time my calamari and fennel was too salty. Back in a flash. Fish and vegetables are always excellent. Price to value excellent for the Hamptons. My wife had the huge pounded pork chops and cooked to her liking (pink). It was easily large enough for two (and indeed it made the next night's dinner). I particularly like the imaginative beds of vegetables/fruits that most dishes have as an underpinning for the protein. The number of locals there any night is a good indication that this place will be around a long time.

Because the service was awful. But the food was so good, it almost didn't matter. The pork we had was amazing...it was pretty pink near the bone which was a red flag, but all turned out well. Highly recommended--can't let one bad waiter ruin my review!
