Description: In 2001 Jason Weiner and Eric Lemonides opened Almond. Almond quickly became the "un-Hamptons" restaurant the Hamptons desperately needed. Jason's commitment to straight forward, locally sourced cuisine and Eric's commitment to being nice to people soon garnered a fiercely loyal following for the restaurant. Almond quickly became a go-to spot in the Hamptons for locals, celebrities, tourists, and fellow restaurateurs. The critics caught on as well. Almond garnered accolades from such esteemed publications as Wine Spectator and the New York Times. Fast-forward 10 years and the iconic Hamptons French bistro enters a new era in a new location in downtown Bridgehampton. Almonds new home is a historic space with 100-year-old tin ceilings, hand carved bar and classic white subway tile. Jason continues to cook good food and Eric is still nice to people. They also haven't lost their knack for sucking up to food journalists. Peter Gianotti of Newsday awarded the new spot three stars and named Almond the Best New Restaurant of 2011

“Nice but noisy”
Reviewed 29 July 2014

Five us sat in a banquet in this lively place. Four of us had the Meatless Monday menu. At its heart was an excellent veggie risotto. Very good Sagapontuck salad. Desserts were all good I had a pot de creme which was the best. Only drawback was the noise in this packed restaurant. Conversation was difficult for this group of seniors. My dry martini had to be returned - it had a foreign taste.

“Very nice evening”
Reviewed 14 July 2014

Almond is a lively French bistro. The menu is small (that's good if you ask me) and the food is very good. The staff is friendly, helpful, and efficient. We had a weird experience in that the first TWO wines we ordered were not available and the Friday night special was being re-served on Saturday (slow Friday night?) instead of the Saturday special. Regardless, steak frites was a big hit at our table. Meat cooked exactly to order and killer french fries (sorry, pomme frites). Dorado was tasty as well. The tin ceilings, wooden floor, and the lively crowd makes this a somewhat noisy restaurant, but it didn't stop us from having a very nice evening.

“Great food!! very busy in season, so rsvp prior..”
Reviewed 8 July 2014

Really great food, everything we had was excellent. It was reasonably priced, so for 2 with appetizers and 2 main courses 2 glasses of wine it was 200 including tip:-) So average prices anywhere you go in the hamptoms. The atmosphere is more for a party mood, i wouldn't call it romantic as its very loud. We were sitting across from each other and couldn't hear at all:-) its all together the music, bar noise etc. Service was just ok, but i understand it was a busy night on july 4 weekend. So we had a reservation, without one the wait was over an hour at 8pm. Food was really excellent, we had a beet salad, an octopus marinated with some potatoes, excellent presentation!!!! and main course was a very good quality fish! so i would give it 5 star for the food.
