“Four Season Gardens Plus Conservatory”

New York Botanical Gardens is one of my favorite public gardens to photograph. There are so many different areas to see.....my favorites are: the Daffodil Walk and colorful Rhododendron and Azalea walks in Spring; the large cluster area of blooming cherry trees; the Peggy Rockefeller Rose Garden which always has the old favorites as well as the newest cultivars; the Rock Garden; and all the other areas containing perennials, annuals, grasses, vines, conifers and more. There are restaurants to eat either inside or out and a fantastic gift store with the best selection of garden books I've ever seen.

“Garden of Eden......”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 June 2014 via mobile

I came here on a sunday. The weather was gorgeous, the flowers were blooming. The grounds are enormous. You can bring your food and have yourself picnic. Most important you get to see beautiful flowers while connecting to nature. Definitely worth the visit. I will definitely be back....

This place is great for when you want some quiet time. When you are within the garden, you don't realize that you are in one of the biggest city. No City Noise.

Free on Wednesdays!

“A beautiful place in which to observe nature and to walk”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 May 2014

The Botanical Gardens is a beautiful place. There is a Conservatory, an inside space in which rare plants are shown; a Childrens Garden which has whimsical exhibits in addition to the usual; a Rose Garden; an Evergreen area; a natural forest to show-case how New York appeared 500 years ago. And the exhibits / plantings are always changing, so one can enjoy this place on many levels and many times. One may take the open tram or walk thru the area. And do visit the Gift Shop.
The biggest disappointment today was that the caterer changed: the food was not as good as previously, and the cost was higher.

Hard to believe you are in the Bronx and not some European gardens. If you haven't been there in years, or not al all....hurry and get there. It is worth the trip many times of the year as the gardens are ever changing
