We had our annual Cousins' Weekend at Villa Roma for the first time, and everyone had a wonderful time. Wonderful activities for guests of all ages and abilities, great selection of both indoor and outdoor activities, excellent staff, clean, large rooms, good food. We will definitely be coming back!

Year after year our family looks forward to going to VR, when you have a 3 and 5 year old there is no better place. Timeshare room is always in nice shape with full kitchen and up to date electronics. The pool is spotless and the camp coordinator with all the activities (Bocce, bunch of races, entertainment etc...) it makes it a great trip and overall inexpensive week. The people that stay at VR especially from a time share perspective are great, you build such friendships for years and to see the kids grow together is priceless. The hotel guest are also great, 6 years now we have never met a bad person. Since the fire the improvements have been tremendous just ask the couple next to you married 50 years who been going there for 34 years. The staff weather you’re at the pool bar, front desk addressing an issue and the maid services you’re in great hands! MY VIEW improvements need to be made to the food in the facility and the long wait time if crowded, most people would take this out on the wait staff but the reality it’s the kitchen. The quality of food could be much better, hence why your kitchen comes in handy. I will say this year the Beachwood Club awesome breakfast and great staff. Surf and turf night there was amazing and the service we had was perfect they really catered to my boys! A new girl waited on us for dinner American name is Jessica but spelled it in here own Albania language. Same night a table of 10 walked out personally do not have the details but the complaint was length of service for them, showing you two sets of tables with a different experience with us it was fantastic. At the end of the day our family will continue to go to VR and we will watch them grow and build friendships. Two final thoughts Katrina love is off the hook, at first look one would never think she would fit in with the crowd up there BUT let me just tell you if you’re having a bad day she is the women you want on your side making you smile! Her energy, the way she cares about each of the guest and the interaction to me was amazing, the proof is everyone knew her and she knew them truly a class act! There was one show where they brought in an actor from some Italian programs they charged you $10.00, he was absolutely horrible I mean all the rage for what everyone started to walk out, that same night they had a magician for the kids and boy what a show my kids are still doing magic but they can’t make me disappear! See you in 2013!

A very nice place to take the family. Cold air condition in rooms. Two Bed room suites. Two adult pools out side three kid pools out side. One indoor pool. Segway tours for every one. Beauty salon to make the women of your life feel good. Food is cheap average to good. Rooms are clean. Stay off the lower floors. Lower floors have humidity. turtle race bet on who will win! Bumper water cars. Race ways bumper cars. Fishing! Lots of activity. Not bad!

Room Tip: Lower floors have humidity. Speak to Kevin, very nice manager

Spent a few days at Villa Roma. I would say it's more geared towards older couples and families with children. The main building of the resort is updated and very clean. The staff is courteous. We had a basic room with two double beds which met our needs. The food was very good and plentiful. Our servers Jose and Carlos were wonderful. Caeser night was especially good. There is a regular pool with a slide and a kiddie pool both were very nice and clean. The activities are typical Catskill Mountain things, if you enjoy bingo, cards, shuffle board, etc., there are lots of activities throughout the day to keep you busy and there are shows in the evening as well. Overall we had an enjoyable time.

Great family place. It is a home away from home. Very friendly staff as well as management. The food is superb and the dining room staff is amazing! Plenty of activities throughout the resort for people of all ages to participate in. This place holds very special memories for me as I and my family have been going there for 38 years. If you are looking for an Atlantis then go there, but if you are looking for a lovely, clean family like atmosphere with great food and beautiful surroundings then you should give this place a shot...you will not be disappointed.

Having read the many mixed reviews on here and also gotten mixed reviews from family and friends, we decided to give The Villa Roma a go anyway. It was a last minute trip and we got a pretty good deal on a suite with breakfast and lunch included. My husband and I visited with our 20 month old son. The pool area was truly phenomenal for him. There is a gigantic kiddie pool with a dump bucket and sprinkler zone. He loved going in and out of each all day. There was also a great playground with lots of space to run around. In the evenings my son loved going to play in the ball pit in the game room and hanging out in the arcade. He even bowled for the very first time. We took a walk up the hill through the timeshare zone and found the horses and other animals to check out. Truly, there was something to keep him busy every second.

However

The place is mega outdated. The dining room border lined on gross, though the food was surprisingly not that bad. Most of the staff, especially in the dining room is pretty odd to say the least. There is a little funky smell in certain places and the entertainment at night is lacking. (But we went to bed at 10 so no biggie for us there) They say the place has been recently renovated, but it looks like the renovation was just to the lobby and pool area, everywhere else looks like the place time forgot.

I probably wouldn't be jumping out of my chair to stay there again to be honest, however if the opportunity came up, like to go with a group of friends or something I would probably go again. It was just good enough to not turn me off forever, if that makes sense.

Most importantly my son had a blast, and that is what mattered most. It was very baby friendly.

Thank you for taking the time to share your review.

We appreciate you coming to our resort and spending your vacations with us. Reviews written are words of other travelers, and sometimes, can be exaggerated or false. We do thank you for taking the time and coming!

We want to first start off by addressing the renovation concerns you had. After the fire, our main building was rebuilt. This included the Main Lobby with the front desk area, the Mezzanine and our Main Dining Room. Along with the renovations were improvements to the outdoor pools. During the course of the year, rooms are taken out of service and remodeled. Please believe us, this is a never ending process to ensure guest satisfaction.

The fact that your child enjoyed our resort, is music to our ears! We are so happy your child was able to enjoy the bucket pool. We have created a special place for the little ones out there and do our best to make sure we are as kid and baby friendly as possible. We know how important the little ones are to our parent guests!

We really appreciate you taking the time and sharing your review with us, and hope you take the oppurtunity and come again! We hope you enjoy the rest of your summer!
