Our agency provides a one night overnight trip for adults with special needs to the lovely Villa Roma each spring. We are a group of 100 with all sorts of requests. In the 28 or so hours we are there our guests can: ride a horse, swim, play bingo, get a hair cut or beauty treatment, dance to live DJ music, shoot billards, shop, go on a nature hike, bowl, and take part in the evening entertainment. (singer, comedian, ventriliquist etc.) The Resort staff are so very kind and respecful to our guests. That goes a LONG way as you can imagine. The food is exceptional with many chioces offerred at each meal. The guest rooms are stunning and comfortable. Coffee makers, refrigerators, kitchenettes, whatever one needs is availble. This trip costs quite a bit for our guests as we must add the cost of the agency Trip Staff salaries. However our guests are SO EXCITED to go each year, we always have a wait list of 5 - 10 people over the total we are able to bring. A real testament to how wonderful the trip is for us. thank you VR!

Room Tip: We ask A LOT from room service and the claening staff while we are there. I'm sure they would...

We appreciate you taking the time and sharing such a thoughtful and wonderful review with us!

The Villa Roma takes great pride in taking care of all of our guests and accommodating even some of the most difficult of requests. Our team members are highly trained in customer service and guest satisfaction. Whether you are here for one day or a couple of weeks, they do everything in their power to ensure you are comfortable and as always, having a great time.

In the relatively short period you were here, you obviously have had the opportunity to see just a fraction of the activities and amenities Villa Roma has to offer. There is truly something for everyone to do! If you are bored, that’s because you want to be, and that of course is OK as well!

We sincerely thank you again for writing such a wonderful review about your vacation experience with us. We look forward to your return visit! Take care!

Spent a week with a time share trade--Sept 29-Oct 6. The Catskills were beautiful with the fall foliage. Villa Roma was outdated but very clean and the staff was very hard working, friendly and helpful. My biggest suggestion would be to please update the carpet and furniture in living room. The sofa and 2 chairs were so uncomfortable that everyone had back aches after watching TV in evening. Floor was more comfortable. Was great to sit on balcony and drink coffee and relax in am. Beds were comfortable.

Little town around area were quaint. Woodstock 20 min away!! Fantastic museum!

2 hours bus ride to NY City from Monticello (20 min away and can leave your car there for free!)
After 2 days in NY city, it was great to come back to the quiet of the Catskills--although loved both the hustle and bustle of the city and the country life in the same week.

I would go back again--if they got new living room furniture!

Hi Marcella! Thank you for taking the opportunity to share your vacation experience with us!

The Villa Roma is located in one of the most beautiful area of the Catskills. The Sullivan County Catskills are absolutely gorgeous this time of year with the changing of the leaves. Many of our wedding guests decide to get married here this time of year as we have one of the best views of the mountains!

Each and every year, we take a few timeshare units out of inventory and do a complete remodel. In addition, other rooms are periodically updated with appliances, furniture, carpeting, among other things. Some units have yet to be remodeled, and it seems that you may be in one of those units. We do apologize that you felt the room was inadequate in that aspect, but can assure you as you noticed, that they are extremely clean and ready for your check in. Next time you visit, make sure you call the timeshare office to see the location of your room and to make requests!

Marcella, we truly appreciate you writing this review. We are happy to hear that your overall experience was a positive one and we look forward to you returning to Villa Roma next time!

We went with a group of about 35 people and had a wonderful experience. This was our third trip to Villa Roma and certainly not our last. The food and service were top notch. The entertainment (singers and comedy act) were really great. We really enjoyed ourselves. The rooms were suites with lots of room. We even went on a short hay ride! My husband went swimming. So many activities. Can't wait to go back again.

Room Tip: I believe most rooms are suites and all are equally good.

Frankly, I was very concerned about spending the weekend at Villa Roma after reading some truly horrible-sounding reviews on this site. That's why I had to make a point of writing this review. I visited Villa Roma with my husband from September 27 - September 29, 2013 for the "couples theme" weekend (plus we added an extra night) and we had such a lovely time!! From the moment we pulled into the beautiful front drive we were awed by the beauty of the establishment as well as the grounds and the view. I had asked for a newly renovated room with two queen beds and we were not disappointed with the "traditional" room we were given in the Ernesto wing (and we just loved saying "Ernesto" the whole time, sounds so cool). The room was immaculately clean, plenty of space, beds were extremely comfortable with spotlessly clean white linens and white duvet. The bathroom was large with his and hers sinks, plenty of water pressure, clean soft towels, and the basic toiletries that are normally provided in a hotel (shampoo, conditioner, facial soap, body soap). The halls were a little musty but that is to be expected in any hotel, and I've been to plenty of hotels and bed and breakfasts both high and low end. The walls were very thin but we lucked out by having considerate neighbors. If the neighbors were not so considerate it may have ruined the trip b/c you really can hear everything next door / leaving the TV on might have been an option to drown out the neighbor but maybe one can't sleep with the TV on. The meal plan was included and we were treated to above-average fully-served breakfasts and dinners in the grand dining room that encompasses the third floor (wedding food is a pretty accurate description but where I come from on Long Island the wedding food is darn good). The first night we arrived after the dining room was closed and were given vouchers to the cafe which was very nice and the food was average and plentiful. We enjoyed delicious creamy ice cream our last night at the resort from the on-site ice-cream parlor. There is entertainment and tons of things to do on-site throughout the day and night. My husband isn't much of a "Joiner" or people-person so we just took a long hike on-site one day and a drive to a farmer's market and yard sale in Callicoon the next. The outdoor pools were closed but I wasn't there for that and probably wouldn't want to go during the summer as I prefer to vacation when everyone's children are in school. We played billiards one night, I dropped $10 in the arcade one night and had such a blast!, and we saw the comedian one night and he was pretty funny. All in all, I can honestly say I will go back to Villa Roma and have already recommended it to my friends, family, and employees!!

Thank you for taking the time and writing such a fantastic review regarding your vacation experience with us.

We have found that Trip Advisor is great marketing tool to help us understand what our guests are saying about our resort. Although no one wants to hear negative reviews, it is always good to get any kind of feedback regarding our guests stay. Of course, some of the reviews are a little more extreme than usual, but we take the time to see what our guests are saying and fix any issues that may be occurring. With this said, we are very happy you decided to look beyond some of the negative reviews and stay with us.

As you have already found out, Villa Roma prides itself in providing good and clean accommodations. We also pride ourselves in guest services and ensuring there is plenty to do each and every day you are here with us. Whether you have kids, or away with your other half, our resort provides a perfect balance of ensuring you can do as much or as little as you want!

Word of mouth recommendations are a true testament of who we are and what we stand for. We truly appreciate you recommending us to your family and friends and cannot express enough how much that means to our resort.

We truly appreciate you taking the time and sharing your vacation experience with us. We look forward to your return visit with us very soon. Take care!

Just went to Villa Roma for the first time with seven other golfers. We had a great time and could not have asked for a better weekend. We had played other mountain courses before where you could hit a great shot but not be rewarded due to the slopes of the fairway. Villa Roma was not like that. The greens were large and undulating. We still haven't figured out how they break uphill but they do. The rooms were more than adequate. Clean with great shower pressure and a comfortable bed. The staff in the dining room was exceptional. They went above and beyond to make sure that we were taken care of in every way. The menu and food was great. Something for everyone.. We were quite impressed with the amount of different activity options available. We didn't get a chance to partake in most of them but it seemed very well thought out. Something for people of all ages. The managers of this resort seem to really have a pulse on their customers needs.

We truly appreciate you taking the time and sharing a wonderful review with us.

As first time golfers here at our resort, we hope you had a very enjoyable and challenging time on our golf course. We have so many great golf packages for the smallest of groups to large golf outings. Our course is meticulously maintained and we have a great staff of golf professionals that make the entire experience enjoyable.

The staff in the main dining room has one of the most difficult jobs in our resort. At times, they are tasked with serving hundreds of guests and as you can imagine, this is no easy task. We have found that our dining room staff take great pride in their jobs and love getting to know the guests they are serving. We will be sure to pass along your kind comments to them!

We once again, truly appreciate you bringing your group to our resort, and we do look forward to you returning again!

Exchange of timeshare for us.
The location of resort is beautiful. Entertainment and activites planned for the week were great. Go Doc Holliday!
Accomodations were shabby/outdated, but pretty clean. We really prefer king sized beds!
Caesar night was a little over rated and over priced. Food was moderate, I'd just as soon cook my own food.
Would we go back? Maybe and that is pushing it. We enjoy having a nice place to stay while enjoying all that is offered.

Room Tip: Ask for an updated room/unit.

Thank you for taking the time and sharing your review with us!

First off, we would like to thank you for exchanging into our resort and vacationing with us. We are certainly located in a beautiful part of the Catskills, and the time of year you spent with us, it was absolutely the best time to view the foliage.

It seems to us based on your review that you were placed in a timeshare unit that may have not been remodeled. Most of our units have some type of remodel or renovation every three to five years. Although some of the units may have not have had work done on them yet, we do ensure they are clean and ready to go for your arrival! During non peak times, you may request to be placed in a newer or renovated unit!

We sincerely appreciate you taking the time and sharing your review with us. It is always great to hear feedback from our guests regarding their recent stay. We look forward to having the opportunity to welcoming you back to Villa Roma.
