“Such a wonderful property!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 September 2013 via mobile

When visiting family, we usually stay elsewhere. Found this hidden gem here (tripadvisor) & will be back! Lovely guest house with three rooms, each with private bath. Excellent common area with coffee and kitchen. Welcoming hostess/owner was welcoming and accommodating.
Across the street from the beautiful Arkell Hall property. Walkable to downtown canjo and directly behind the Erie Canal bike trail.

Remember though, this is a guest house, so bring your own toiletries!

My husband and I were in Canajoharie for a friends 50th bday party and booked this B and B for a one night stay. I believe it is now called the Gardens Edge Guest House. We were pleasantly surprised upon check in. The innkeeper Patricia was very welcoming. The guest house was in fantastic condition, immaculately clean with charming decor. We had a large room with a private bath which included access to a more public seating area with kitchen access. This would make a great place for a longer stay. Unfortunately, we had to leave very early in the morning so no chance to enjoy a full breakfast although, according to reviews, I'm not sure if a full breakfast is even offered. We were offered crullers, bananas, cereal, coffee and o.j. If ever in this area again I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. A couple of recommendations: should provide shampoo and conditioner amenities in the bathroom and a few extra pillows and an extra blanket in room. (Only gave it a 3 star for sleep quality due to pillows being too soft. Didn't sleep that well.) Thank you Patricia!

When I booked an overnight room here I was expecting an en-suite room in the main part of the house. I was in-fact shown to a house down the road with a shared bathroom, but I kept an open mind. Before we unpacked I had a look around. The property for some reason did not have main lighting, only lamps and no door locks. Consequently I walked in on a lady in the bathroom. We left immediately as it was not what I had booked, and the owners did refund my deposit.

We stayed here while cycling the Erie Canal. It was just what we needed. Nice accomodations within walking distance of town.

A do-it-yourself breakfast was included.

Our room was large with a private bath.

Lucky enough to have family in "Canjo," we discovered the WINDOW BOX when we were all a bit
younger. And were thrilled this time that the Grainers HAD installed grab bars in the baths!
(And it is sort of amazing to get an ENTIRE bar of Yardley every time. But do bring your own
shampoo and conditioner!) They offer bottled water and unlimited coffee and teas. And the
breakfast - move over Regency Hotel in NYC. In three glorious mornings: pancakes with candied
apples - incredible French toast and sausage - and the most terrific shirred eggs with ham bits
and fresh tomato and spinach!!! (Did I mention berries and candied pears and fresh orange juice?)
Room charming and always being fine tuned. Beautiful views from marvelous windows - being
replaced in 2013 with even better windows. A terrific value. A treat. JRS/JWD NYC

Room Tip: Downstairs is now our option (walking sticks) - we remember upstairs with affection. Have not staye...

We picked Window Box for three nights for cycling on the Erie Canal. It was an inspired choice. Tom & Patty were marvellous hosts, making restaurant recos (& reservations!!), cultural/interest sidetrip suggestions and providing mouth watering breakfasts. The location is great for cycling as you can head out for a good distance in both directions. But the highlight was the charming B&B itself. As three couples, we had the guest house to ourselves with a separate room for breakfasts, evening cocktails, afternoon coffee, big screen TV (Ryder Cup weekend). The rooms, indeed the whole home are beautifully and charmingly decorated. Bedrooms are spacious and well appointed with clean, private baths. All in all, a great find!!

Room Tip: Each of the three rooms in the guest house had private baths. One room had a double bed, while the...

This was a lovely place to stay for one night. There were some nice restaurants within walking distance. The bath was shared, but luckily this night we were the only guests. Breakfast was hardy and delicious, which because we were biking 40 miles that day was important to us.
