“Beautiful, welcoming inn!”
Reviewed 18 August 2013

My boyfriend and I just got back from a weekend stay at the Red Door Inn. It is an absolutely perfect place to stay if you're visiting the wineries around the Finger Lakes or just looking to relax and get away from it all. We stayed in the Field room which had an amazing Jacuzzi tub and a rain shower. The rooms (and whole inn) were incredibly clean and comfortable--our bed was the most comfortable I've ever slept in (other than my own). Kathryn and Kevin are so warm and you will enjoy their friendly banter and conversation. Kevin makes a breakfast that is not to be missed--you will leave full and satisfied.

Room Tip: If you're looking to relax, definitely try the Field room. The bathroom alone was worth it! Al...

Owners are friendly, the bathrooms are amazing! Super close to town. We stayed in the Fields room. Rainforest shower head, jacuzzi bath tub, comfy beds, fluffy towels. Carson room was the best only e cause it was a bit bigger than the Fields room and had a fireplace. All of the rooms are quite pretty. Price was ok, a tad high but no complaints!

Lovely 200+ year old house that has been converted to a bed nd breakfast. Kevin and Katherine Carson are very friendly hosts and make you feel very much at home with a glass of wine in front of the fire. Much of the conversion has been done by Kevin himself and what a fine job he has done. We stayed in the Field Room which included a spectacular bathroom with a two-person whirlpool tub and a rainforest shower. Beautiful! The breakfast was prepared and served by a very busy Kevin. It was delicious and began with monkey bread with freshly cut fruit and progressed to an egg florentine souffle, sausage patty, potatoes, and toast. Everything here was great and we can't wait to go again.

Room Tip: the Field Room is a great choice with a remarkable bathroom and a queen size bed. Note, however, th...

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Red Door Inn. Kathryn and Kevin are hilarious and very welcoming. We chose the smallest room, but it was plenty of space for us. Very comfortable bed -- slept great! The house it beautifully decorated, and the porch is fantastic. Highly suggest enjoying a glass of wine on the porch during a summer or fall evening. Breakfast is delicious, too -- hearty portions. Overall a great stay.

Room Tip: The Hines room was perfect for our one-night stay but may be considered a bit small for others. It s...

My mom and I stayed here last weekend, for 2 nights and it was worth every cent!!! Kathyrn and Kevin are very welcoming and genuine people, that helped make our mini vacation more enjoyable!! The house is gorgeous, with comfortable beds, separate bathrooms and many rooms in the house you can relax at!! An amazing, homemade breakfast was made for us each morning, that def. filled you up for a good portion of the day!! There is the beautiful porch, with comfortable furniture, that you can sit outside and relax!! There is a beautiful sunroom upstairs, that you can sit and relax in! You are very close to shops, Sonnenberg Gardens, wineries, CMAC and great restaurants! I highly recommend that if you are looking for an inviting and relaxing place to stay, this is the place to be!!! :)

Room Tip: Any room here is def. worth it!

We did not know what to expect and were delighted with the Inn. It is well located on the main street but the rooms were very quiet. The building is a very well restored 19th century structure. The proprietors take pride in what they have done and they should.

We just got back from a weekend of wine and beer tasting in the Finger Lakes. We decided to stay at the Red Door Inn after reading great reviews on this site. They did not disappoint! Kevin and Katheryn (owners) made us feel welcome as soon as we walked in the door with a glass of wine and advice on places to eat and visit in the region. Kevin even made dinner reservations for us at Eric's Office in town, a great little restaurant in walking distance of the B&B. We stayed in The Hines room when we arrived and through a booking error were unable to stay in the Carson for our second night. Kevin and Katheryn graciously upgraded us to the Eastman free of charge, which we greatly appreciated! Both rooms were beautiful and extremely clean. The Hines although smaller, had a lot of character with nice touches like exposed brick and original hardwood flooring. The Eastman was huge, and one of the most comfortable beds we've slept in. The furniture was amazing, and the walk-in shower was awesome!

Now on to the breakfast. Our hosts had fresh coffee stationed in the hallway leading to the rooms before we woke up both mornings. The food was delicious. The smell of Blueberry pancakes and monkey bread wafted through our doors, and it really made the stay special. The food tasted better than it smelled, and the fresh local fruit was a nice touch. We ate with different guests each morning, and really enjoyed meeting new people and sharing good conversation while we ate.

The Red Door Inn is in a great location as well. Not only is it in walking distance to restaurants and stores, but it's less than 2 miles from Canandaigua Lake. If you like good micro brew, you can take a short drive to Naked Dove Brewery, and sample some great locally made beer.

Overall the experience was amazing, and you'll feel like you've stayed with family or close friends if you decide to stay at this great little B&B. Give it a shot, an you won't be disappointed!!
