“Interesting but small and a bit dangerous for active children”
Reviewed 1 September 2014

While I found the few rows of boat houses to be adorable, and the view was lovely, this pier is not really set up with safety in mind. No type of fences/ropes/railings to speak of along the pier. To top it off, my 4-year-old child nearly fell through a large opening between the ice cream shoppe and the pier! Luckily she caught herself and only her legs fell through to the water below. Lots of children go to ice cream places so to me this is a bit ridiculous! I must add that I am a world traveler and not extremely safety minded so coming from me one must take this seriously.
Also, other than the ice cream shoppe/kayak rentals and the cute boat houses there is literally nothing else going on at this pier. Seems they could do so much more with it. I have been to so many lovely piers in the United States and this one just does not measure up.

“Canandaigua Lady Boat Tour”
Reviewed 1 September 2014

This tour was terrible! There was no narration just a nice ride around the Lake. Canandaigua Lake has a wonderful history and I took my friend for her 79th birthday expecting a similiar experience that we had the year before on Skaneatletes Lake Boat Ride. This was a waste of money. Don't bother.

“Best way to see Lake Canandaigua. Famous Boathouses were interesting”
Reviewed 21 August 2014

The pier is a nice little park that sits right on Lake Canandaigua. There parking is free, and on a mid-weekday in August, there were a few spots to choose from, but most were full. I do not see how there would be any spots in the evening or on weekends when the people with boathouses are using the lot. We chose a picnic table with a great view of the shoreline. There are lots of gulls, but if you do not feed any of them, they will give up and leave you alone. I had heard about the boathouses, and they were the best part of this visit. The three piers with very very small boathouses on either side of each pier looked like something from history. The water between the piers are short canals leading to the boat entry for each house. All of the houses are different colors and styles, and this is very picturesque. We also found a small gift shop on the pier that sold snacks too. There are public restrooms that are 100% accessible too.

“Nice view of the Lake”
Reviewed 21 August 2014

A small pier with a wonderful view of Canandaigua Lake and Squaw Island. So much of the property along the lake is privately owned that this is a lovely spot for the public to enjoy the lake any time of year. There are very few parks or public areas along this Finger Lake so the pier is a must stop especially on a nice day.

“Pier”
Reviewed 11 August 2014

Would be advantageous for the city to include a pier that visitors could tie up to, so they could walk to local establishments. There are two places to tie up along this stretch of waterfront. Poor planning.
