“Comfortable in every way”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 February 2014 via mobile

Warm decor, the sweetest waitress and solid food. The chili was surprisingly good. The whole place feels great - inviting and unpretentious.

“Now That's a Diner!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 January 2014

Diverted off the 87 for real food, not fast food. Was a nice surprise. Great service, super friendly. The food? Everyone liked what they had, but my Beef Stew (special) was superb. Really tender, really tasty, really cheap, really fast. Man, I'll be back.

“great food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 September 2013

We have eaten here many times while visiting in the area. They have a menu with so many great selections that it is hard to make a decision. Everything we have tried has been so good. The prices are very reasonable for all the food you get.

“Classic, full of locals, nice waitress, great salad”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 August 2013

The Ambrosia is one of those quintessential, chrome-filled American diners with a stool-lined counter, a bar, and lots of tables. As a solo diner, I was treated very well with gracious and speedy service. Within about 45 minutes after my arrival I had ordered, eaten, paid, and left. My Cobb salad ($11.49) was delicious, with generous portions of grilled chicken, bacon, avocado, and crumbled bleu cheese. The menu included lots of good-sounding breakfast items, and the bakery cases were full of tempting treats. I enjoyed the local color, too. To my mind, it beats the pants off the chi-chi, outrageously expensive spots where I've eaten not far away in Rhinebeck: of course, this is not gourmet fare, but it's so much easier on the wallet!
