We love boats, particularly older wooden ones. Great museum. Very well laid out. Excellent exhibits, both indoors and outdoors. Good location right on the St Lawrence river way in the 1000 islands area. The best thing by far however, was the boat ride on a vintage speed boat on the St Lawrence. $25 per person for about 1 hour. Trips depart on the hour in summer. Great fun and the highlight of our trip to this region. Much better way to see the 1000 islands area than on classic tourist trap boat trips. This felt like a private charter. The boat was beautiful and great fun. The skipper was good fun and interesting to talk to. Very highly recommended!

We visited the museum on a Monday. We are not real boat folks but we thoroughly enjoyed our time. The boats were beautiful and learned some interesting history and factual info related to the boating industry. We recommend the antique boat ride and rowing a skiff in the bay area. The buildings and staff are top notch. Glad we took the time here.

Our expectations were far exceeded.
It will take at least half a day to tour the various exhibits. The facility is much larger than expected. The number of boats on display, the quality of their restoration and the history associated with them is astonishing. What a great look back to the gilded era of the 1000 Islands. It is wonderful that endowments to the museum have been so well utilized.

The boats are breathtaking especially the house boat. Returned the next day to go on a ride in one of the boats Teal. Amazing experience. Highly recommend the tour and def. recommend taking a ride in one of these beauties, cost extra but was well worth it. Had a blast!

The Antique Boat Museum is a must see if you are in the area. Beautiful, old, restored boats and engines. They don't make them like that anymore. It's fun to climb aboard and admire. Good for young kids too.
