What a great addition to Clayton! We love the area and are so happy to have a luxury hotel to stay at now. The rooms are so clean and the hardwood floors are the best. ( hate hotel carpeting ) I loved the spa like bathroom with the walk in tile shower. Pay the extra for the balcony and watch the boats go by. The fire pits on the patio are great and we met people from all over each night. The staff was so friendly and always smiling. We had a great breakfast over looking the river and the food was great! Can't wait to go back!

This is a beautiful hotel looking at one of the most amazing hidden gems...the St. Lawrence River. I am currently sitting on my balcony looking down at the outdoor fire pits watching the boats go by and it is just breathtaking. Staff are friendly and accommodating and the room is beyond beautiful. This is a quaint town with excellent dining and this hotel was much needed. Way to go!

Room Tip: Pick one where you can see the river.

Always loved the St Lawrence and couldn't wait to try the hotel after seeing the location and pictures online. The experience surpassed what we saw in photos. Waited on the picturesque patio on adirondack rockers as our room was prepped (we arrived early). The setting and view was spectacular. It was so peaceful that later we returned to finish our night around a large fire pit overlooking the river, sipping wine. Our room was spectacular with a balcony overlooking the patio and water. The river side is well worth the upgrade costs. Everything in the room was well thought out and perfect for the St Lawrence experience. The bed was a cloud of comfort, the bathroom was gorgeous stone with a spacious shower and the dark wood floors wrapped it all up in a elegant yet 'rivery' style. We ate an amazing dinner (separate review) and returned to a welcoming turned down room, complete with chocolates and jazz music playing from the TV. Surprising and smile worthy. Morning overlooking the quiet river with freighters passing by hundreds of yards away while having complimentary coffee capped a perfect stay. The staff was warm and it was obvious that there was an effort to cover every base. Very well done all around.

Room Tip: Balcony upgrade worth every penny.

We know the developer and are familiar with his clone hotel in Watkins Glen. We thought it would be fun to give his new hotel a try. We just did not know it had only been open for five days.

The hotel is beautiful. Our room was very nice with a good view of the river. However it took us a while to get to our room. First problem - they could not find our electronic reservation. Next problem - we requested a balcony room with a river view. We were assigned a room with a balcony, but it was a real stretch to call it a river view. We did not accept it. We got a river view room, but no balcony. Next problem, we tried to charge a drink to our room and the bartender did not know how to do it. The staff needs continued training, but they are definitely trying and very friendly. The high point was dinner. The food was terrific and Amber our waitress was terrific. Very friendly and helpful.

This hotel is a great addition to Clayton. Once the bugs are worked out, I anticipate this will be a great place to stay.

Great food, friendly staff, ambience that caressed - not much more that one can ask of a resort hotel, anywhere. We swept into Clayton on the tail end of a weather front, looking for somewhere to rest after hours of driving rain, and stumbled upon the Harbor Hotel - and no sooner had we arrived than blue skies appeared overhead. Malbec uncorked, we plunged into the indoor pool to wash away the dust, and then settled for a glorious evening of sunset hues, toasty patio firepits and new friendships. The newness of the hotel (its sixth day of operation, before the formal opening) showed here and there - bar staff not sure how to charge against our room, advertising vacuums, gaps in the wine-rack - but the sheer enthusiasm of the staff won the day, time and time again. We'll be back.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the water give great sunset views.

The rooms are uhhhmazing! All the rooms here are very spacious as I was given a chance to stay here for business. The hotel even had bathrobes in their room and turn down services in the evening. My room was facing the St Lawrence River so if you look further out, Canada is right in front of you. I also got the chance to eat at their restaurant and it was nothing but awesomeness. The service and the food was top notch compared to some higher end restaurants who are always pretentious in front of you. My recommendation for lunch is their crab cake sandwich . It was delicious and you could taste the freshness of the crab meat. I wasn't being serve by 1 server but by two and they kept coming back to check on my food! A+++ I will definitely come back again to enjoy my stay since I was here on business. Also, their patio bar was very open and nice. If you like a nice glass of wine overlooking the St. Lawrence river, this is the place to be! If you have time, travel to Canada, it’s only 3 hours away.
