This was our second stay at this beautiful and well-managed Inn. The first was in mid-September, 2013 for a long weekend. Most recent visit was Jan 10-23. On both visits, Pru was consulting (leadership training) with Hamilton College. In September we stayed in the lovely Vineyard room (Pru's favorite) and in January the Berkshire spacious suite was ideal for our lengthy visit - because of its separate sitting room, table, small fridge and large comfortable bed.
The three skylights and windows provided excellent views even during snow showers.
The real joy of Arbor Inn is breakfast when Ellen serves her delicious hot dish (such as spinach-cheese omelet, apple pancakes, and eggs Benedict) preceded by fruit, as well as homemade breads and muffins. The meal is enhanced by the friendly conversation of both Ellen and Dave and since both tables can seat at least six persons, Ellen or Dave produce stimulating conversations by introducing guests to each other.
We have enjoyed some good dinners in Clinton at Across the Row Bistro and Nola's. For lunch, go to Cosmos Café or Alteri's. There are a number of good restaurants within five miles of the Inn. We especially liked the food and ambiance of Carmella's Café on Route 5.
We feel like we are "at home" during our stay at the Arbor Inn. Pru has an on-going working relationship with Hamilton College and we plan to continue staying at the Arbor Inn -- the best B & B in the area.
