Owner description: The nondenominational Chapel Restoration is an historic Greek Revival style church originally built for Irish Catholic workers employed by the nearby West Point Foundry. Designed by Thomas Kelah Wharton, an 18-year old architect from Hull, England, the Chapel was dedicated in 1834. Just west of the Cold Spring Train Station (just over an hour from Grand Central Terminal in New York City), the grounds are open during daylight hours when there are no private events. A fantastic place for weddings, with one of the finest views of the Hudson in the tiny, picturesque village of Cold Spring, NY.

I just love this little chapel. It is clearly from an earlier, simpler time. It seems almost "hand carved" from a single block of wood.

During the summer they hold a variety of concerts, mostly on Sunday afternoon; and they do weddings of all types.

Front the front steps you have a magnificent view of the Hudson River. A few years ago they added a new building with a small meeting room, kitchen, and bathrooms. Additionally, it is across the street from the Cold Spring train station - thus providing ample parking and easy access to New York City via Metro North.

The Chapel only holds about 100 people, so large events need to find other accommodations; but for a small wedding or event - it is hard to find a better place!
