My brother and sister in law planned their son's rehearsal dinner at the Bump Tavern on the grounds of the museum. It was great, very unique place and staff was very accommodating.

This is an excellent, well laid out, museum of farming. When we were there (Aug., 2014), they also happened to have a civil war encampment with re-enactors. The museum also has a beautiful, hand painted, carousel. Great for families but fun even for adults as well.

Family Friendly or going solo. This functioning village is fun and educational to visit. The people at each building know their area and share it so well. Food and restrooms make it user friendly.

We ended up going to the Farmers Museum after the BHoF, and this place was the best part of the trip. Having four children under the age of 5 with us, it was absolutely perfect. There wasn't a lot of people there, so it was easier to enjoy all the houses and other buildings they had. They have a small petting zoo which all the kids loved. My daughter especially loved seeing the girls working the different looms. Very educational and definitely makes you think about and appreciate what we all have today! Will ABSOLUTELY go back next time we are in Cooperstown!!!

Read the reviews from others but was still a bit skeptical. The museum visit was even more fun than I hoped it would be. Walking through the exhibits and seeing the different worker on the farm in period costume was great. Everyone is very friendly and eager to interact with visitors. The best part of the visit is the Empire State Carousel. It's only $0.50 a person to ride and is great fun for all young or old. You don't need to have little children with you to go on and have fun. A definite place to stop on a visit to Cooperstown
