The motel is within walking distance of the Baseball Hall of Fame. The women we encountered in the office are not courteous or helpful. There was at least one insect in the room and the room smelled moldy. The towels smelled like manure. At the time we were there, the advertised boats were not offered and the restaurant was closed. The rooms weren't cleaned thoroughly during an overnight stay. The heating/cooling system did not quite do its job, either. We are used to something much better for the price.

Well this is all a first... although Cooperstown in located in the country I have never heard anything about the smell of manure. Our hotel was rebuilt and the accusation of mold I find very upsetting. Looking at the many many reviews we have you will see as other will as well that our place is ranked high for cleanliness. I apologize that while entering or exiting your room a bug may have flown into your room. Not only are we again in the country but we are also on the lake. I can assure you that the bug was not something like a cockroach or anything of that matter that one may find in Arkansas. To address the issue of service I have had the same staff at my front desk for over 20 years. There of course is a reason for that as they have always provided our guests with a friendly easy and very efficient stay for our guests. I'm sorry that your stay was so bad that instead of checking out early and leaving a horrible situation as your stated, that you instead decided to stay for two nights. I'm also surprised as when I stay somewhere are find a situation I usually bring it to managements attention right away. Nothing was brought to any of my staff or my attention. Again I'm sorry that you found your stay to be such a bad experience. The last thing I would like to address is the boat tour and the restaurant not being open. As advertised if you or anyone visiting would read the advertisements, one would notice that the restaurant and boat tour are open in season which is Memorial Day to Columbus Day. It is pretty impossible for the boat tour to run when the ice finally comes off the lake mid-April. I hope that the town, most stores and museums either not being open or with shortened hours also didn't ruin your stay.

This little hotel overlooks Otsego Lake, which was really lovely. It's about 1 1/2 short blocks to the Baseball Hall of Fame and Cooperstown's Main Street. Most establishments are within walking distance and there is on- and off-street parking. The rooms were recently renovated, so they are very clean and comfortable. We were able to squeeze the travel crib in the room with us--so, even though the rooms are small, they're not THAT small. The staff was very friendly. We didn't get to eat at the restaurant, but they do have one that will re-open for the season next month. Next time we're in Cooperstown, we plan to stay at the Lake Front Hotel.

The hotel was situated right on Otsego Lake and our room had a beautiful view. The hotel is a short walking distance to the Hall of Fame and village and is quite convenient. The room was small but clean and modern. I woul recommend this over the sterile chain hotels any day.

This is THE place to stay for baseball fans! Situated at the southern end of Otsego Lake, it has been remodeled in a lovely nautical style. The rooms are very clean. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The bar and restaurant have inside and deck seating with views of the picturesque lake. Once you park your car, there is no need to move it, everything is within walking distance.

If you are visiting the Baseball Hall of Fame not a better location to be found, 2 blocks off main street (which is nice to escape the crowds) with a location right on the lake. Visited in winter so the lake only increased the bitter cold but we were able to bundle up. At the time of our stay there were only a few occupied rooms in the hotel, service was friendly and rooms were clean.

Would certainly recommend a stay for families - in talking to locals there are quite a few b & b's in the area which is something I would try if traveling as a couple. Downtown Cooperstown in winter is like a Christmas Village = beautiful place to be in this one stoplight town!

Rooms are on the small side but large enough for two to share very well. And the rooms were very clean. What impressed us most was the service at the front desk and in the restaurant. Very friendly and helpful. When we arrived it was raining. We had a rental car, so no umbrella, and we needed to unload our luggage at the room. The manager heard us talking, went in the backroom and brought us an umbrella. So nice! At breakfast each morning, at the restaurant, which sits right on the lake, the wait staff was wonderful!!! And the food was very good. It's not the Ritz, but it's everything one needs for a comfortable visit to upstate New York.

The staff was very helpful and willing to do what they could to make our stay enjoyable. The staff was able to make recommendations on what to do in town and how to take advantage of our time in Cooperstown. I would definitely return.
