“Beautiful wedding weekend”
Reviewed 14 June 2014 via mobile

My husband and I came up as guests for his cousin's wedding and could not have had a more pleasant 2-night stay!

The hotel itself is beautiful and well kept, with gorgeous lake views and a beautiful lawn that served as the backdrop for the wedding. We are fans of staying at places on the Historic Hotels of America list, and both agree that this has been one of our favorite places so far.

From breakfast to turndown service, the staff was very helpful, anticipating exactly we needed. Breakfast was included with our room rate and was a lovely spread, including time spent with "to-go" coffee on the veranda's rocking chairs. The bars and lounge downstairs coupled with the large fire pit outside were a cozy way to finish the evenings.

We shared a two-queen + couch bedroom with family and found there was plenty of room for the four of us and our things. The extra sitting area and the well suited decor made this not just a hotel room, but a part of the experience.

We would highly recommend the Otesaga as a getaway in a charming town, and - based on the bride and groom's feedback - to anyone planning a wedding in upstate NY. One tip: ask for a room with a view of the lake for gorgeous views in the morning!

We have stayed in many nice places. The views, accommodations, food, personnel and service were excellent. The decor was newly updated and very attractive. If you are going to Cooperstown, I highly recommend you stay here rest and relaxation after baseball and touring. We did not play the golf course because we had no time. We were here to see our twin grandsons play baseball on the Fields of Dreams which is a fantastic setup for any lover of baseball to see.

Room Tip: Our room was very large with two beds. The room was handicap accessible so the bathroom was very lar...

I just got back from a conference at the Otesaga. The staff was omnipresent, looking after your every need. Our room was nice. My only complaint was that the bathroom though large, had no shelves or storage for toiletries and the lighting in the bath was dim. We are seeing this in more and more hotels where they seem to be trying to create a certain atmosphere in the bathroom, when all we really want is space to put your stuff and good lighting. There's a nice new fire pit outside that's a great addition..

Room Tip: There's a big variety. Ask for a lake view.

My husband and I recently spent our anniversary at The Otesaga Hotel & Resort. It was highly recommended by friends. The setting, overlooking the lake is wonderful. And the hotel is a lovely gem. Our room had a view of the lake, making it even more special.

We were only able to get there for an overnight, which is not enough time to make it extraordinary. By the time we were relaxed, it was time to leave.

Next time, we'll add a day of golf to our visit and have a little more time for R&R. Since we had visited Cooperstown before, we chose to spend or time at the resort

The venue for the golf bistro was beautiful, overlooking the 6th & 18th holes of the course. The luncheon menu was reliable and tasty but we were inundated by gnats next to the table. A late afternoon dip in the pool was clean and refreshing.

For our anniversary dinner we opted for inside dining at the Glimmerglass. It was a Monday evening, so we had the place to ourselves.

Our only complaint was that the pillows were too hard. Also, there were inconsiderate guests nearby who woke us a few times in the night, due to their loud talking on the way to their room and pounding on nearby doors. Don't know how that could have been avoided.

Room Tip: Request a room in the quieter area.

May wife and I along with our three year old daughter stayed at the Otesaga Resort Hotel for two nights during the HOF Classic Weekend. I must say that we had an amazing time in Cooperstown, and much of the reason was because of our stay at the Otesaga.

We travel to Cooperstown every summer for Induction Weekend, and decided to make the trip for the HOF Classic game this year, as we have never been in the month of May. We made an excellent choice! We had had brunch and lunch at the Otesaga before, but had never stayed there before because it is closed off to the general public during the time we are usually there, which is Induction Weekend, as that is where the Hall of Famers stay.

We jumped at the chance to stay at the Otesaga, and we were not disappointed in any way. The accommodations and location of the hotel are fantastic, but I think what makes the Otesaga very special is the entire staff. I can think of so many cases where our every need was simply taken care of by the thoughtful staff, that I would be writing for quite a long time.

Travelling with a three year old has its challenges and so for us, we are very much into convenience and what makes our daughter happy. The staff at the Otesaga was extremely helpful and accommodating to our daughter which is the #1 thing in our books on so many levels. When a Bellhop goes out of his way at 11pm to get your daughter a glass of milk, that is simply AWESOME!

Not only are the accommodations first class, the food during breakfast and lunch is just outstanding. We were extremely impressed with the large selection of items at breakfast and the quality of the food and service is second to none. Having been to Cooperstown many times, I can honestly say that it is in fact one of the nicer towns I've been to, not only in the old victorian and colonial homes there, but mores in regards to the friendliness and kindness of the people. The staff at the Otesaga surely encapsulates those traits and makes every guest feel like gold.

We will surely be back to the Otesaga and are excited about spending many more evenings sitting on the veranda overlooking the beautiful lake.

Room Tip: you can walk to Main St. in a couple of minutes....leave your car at the hotel!

A very relaxing stay. There is nothing bad to say. The staff is absolutely devotional to the guests. I stayed in a large suite with an amzingly comfortable bed. The room a/c was not annoying. The room was quiet. All the meals are good, and I really enjoyed late night at the fire bar. The hotel Gym is average, but you have access to the local gym which is very good, and its always easy to go for a run there.
