We've never stayed at a Bed and Breakfast, and may never find anything as nice as Daylily Dreams. The home is furnished in antiques, with hardwood floors and lovely rugs. The walls are decorated with quaint art and needlework. Our room had stencilling near the sloping ceiling and we slept under a homemade quilt. The window had been left open a bit so we could hear the fountain in the garden. We had our own bathroom. Everything was immaculate and every thoughtful detail was perfect.
Breakfast was delighftful..a lovely fruit cup, omelets with cheese and homegrown vegetable, delicious coffee served in a cup and saucer. Our hosts were fabulous...a bit reserved and businesslike, but so friendly.
We didn't have time to tour the gardens or antiquie shop, I would have like to.

Room Tip: The home is in the country and street signs are infrequent. Go in the daylight and stay alert, or y...

At the last minute (by Cooperstown standards) my husband and I decided to attend the final weekend of the Glimmerglass festival and were delighted to get a room for two nights at Daylily Dreams, our favorite B&B in the area. We have stayed there three times in the last 10 years and find it a perfect home base for our get away weekends in the area. The key word may be "home" because Bob and Raye create a lovely, home-like ambience for their guests. The rooms are large and very comfortable, with extra pillows, flat screen TV's, good lighting and well-chosen furnishings. The breakfasts are made with ingredients from local farms, like blueberries picked nearby and strawberries from the farmers market.

We had to arrive rather late and were so pleased that Bob waited up for us and insisted on helping us carry our bags.

This is a relatively modern home on a large property with gorgeous landscaping. It's next door to a farm and very serine, but a very short drive to the center of Cooperstown and the opera.

We've stayed at Daylily Dreams several times. It is by far our favorite B&B in Cooperstown. Rae and Bob keep the place immaculate. The gardens are lovely, the rooms are cozy, and the breakfasts are delicious.

Room Tip: All the rooms are great. It's all about your price point.

My husband and I just spent one week at this B and B. The owners, Bob and Rae, make the guests feel as if they are staying at a friend's home. Bob and Rae work as a team to create a wonderful experience. The breakfasts are outstanding, the gardens are beautiful, the rooms beautifully decorated. Sitting out in the gazebo is a wonderful way to spend some down time. Bob and Rae gave us great suggestions for places to eat and places to visit. For people that enjoy walking, the B and B is an easy one mile walk into town. There are also some other great walking paths near the B and B. The place was spotless.

Everything about our stay was outstanding.

Daylily Dreams is, in our opinion, the ONLY place to stay in the Cooperstown area! It is in a beautiful quiet setting just outside Cooperstown and is perfect in every respect. The rooms are large, pretty, sparkling clean and very comfortable, and Bob and Rae do everything possible to make their guests comfortable. Breakfasts are amazing and the surrounding gardens are magnificent. We couldn't have asked for anything more!

We stayed at Daylily Dreams last week, July 19 - 26, 2013 while we were in town for the Cooperstown Dreams Park week tournament for our 12 year old son. The accommodations were lovely and the grounds are beautiful. Our experience, however, was completely soiled when we realized that the owners do NOT want baseball families or families with children to stay at their B&B. At one point, we brought some out of town visiting family to the B&B only to sit on the back porch for an hour while waiting for the next game to begin. The hosts were very rude to our guests (my son's father and grandfather) and made them and us feel very uncomfortable.

From that time on, Rae would not speak with us and did not even come out to say goodbye on our last morning. The breakfast on our last morning was also inedible. The waffles were rock hard and crumbled when cut. It was very subpar and we will not stay there again should we be in the area.

Room Tip: All the rooms are basically the same.

We returned from a 2 hour visit to the opera to find two carloads of unknown persons on our deck, drinking, and eating snacks. Children were on the grounds playing baseball. Had the paid guests asked permission to use our deck to entertain guests, it would have been denied for purposes of liability. We have always tried to meet the requests of our guests when that request is appropriate.
One child needed to be reminded a number of times during her visit to refrain from jumping on the slippery rocks surrounding our fishpond. Again, this was a question of her safety and our liability. We served 8 Belgian waffles, whipped cream and strawberries to 6 guests. I don't recall discarding any remainders, thus a response to the "inedible" remark.
We are a small bed and breakfast and are the sole caretakers of our home and gardens. As such we enjoy an equitable balance of responsibility. One of us always bids our guests a safe trip home; we offer to carry luggage and provide directions when needed.

We loved our stay at the Daylily Dreams B&B. Our room was very clean and exceeded our expectations. Bob and Rae take great pride in their beautiful house and gardens, Each morning, we were served a gourmet breakfast... yum, yum! Bob and Rae were the perfect hosts, making our third trip to Cooperstown most memorable. I would definitely stay here again!!
