Of all the Yogi Bear Campgrounds I have visited around the NY area, this was the WORST. Starting with management. The workers were nice but Sandi is not management material. Just standing in the office and listening to how she handles issues makes you shake your head. I would have left if I hadn't drove 5 hrs. Don't expect warm and friendly...more like bitter and sour puss. The campground needs serious updating. The welcome sign letters are all curling and peeling off. NO doors on the stalls of the men’s toilets on a big weekend like Memorial day? Beware: Very few full hook up sites, not designed for big rigs even if you go self-contained. Dump stations are very tight to navigate not to mention the long lines when everyone is ready to leave because of the few full hook up sites.
If you are in the cabins or near Picnic Alley, there is a HUGE hill to walk down/up. Their map is misleading. If you are up there, you better drive down. If you are camping w/rv's up there, the sites are all unleveled with large slopes so bring lots of big wood to stay leveled in the soft ground. Wi-Fi ? where? didn't get any. Cable? hit or miss, some sites were missing the connection to even hook up to and sometimes the cable was out completely even when you were hooked up. The only plus was that the lake activities were reasonably priced $5 per half hr on the boat rentals. Ice cream social? 1 flavor with a few toppings. Other Yogi camps will have 3 flavors and even give you a free plastic cup. The better value would be to go to the store's ice cream shop and get a few flavors for the same price.
One other caution, if you have the Yogi rewards card, you always have to bring it to the store as they are not good on keeping track of it in their system. Employees had trouble figuring it out and most store transactions are not linked to your site/card.
Yes they did try to enforce the 5 mph limit but that was only for RV's, golf carts apparently can speed, they were zooming all around at least at 15+ mph.
Sites along the lake are packed in TIGHT.
