Very nice overnight stay at the Inn. If the bathroom had been a little bigger, it would have been perfect. We had room 211 on the first floor, a nice-sized king room. Fridge, coffee maker with all necessary supplies, big flatscreen with blu-ray player. Very clean. The bathroom was sufficient but very small. Incredible location in downtown Cooperstown. Very helpful staff. We even forgot a few things in our room and they kept them until we went back for them. Breakfast was very good. Big variety and well stocked.

My husband and I stayed at the Tunnicliff Inn to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. The Inn is in walking distance of everything in the charming village of Cooperstown, and the Baseball Hall of Fame is right around the corner. We were able to check in early and the person working the desk assisted us with finding parking behind the Inn, which is limited. A hot breakfast is free every morning in the dining room, which was convenient and above average. Our room was on the second floor and adequate in size for 2 people. The bathroom was small and the the shower stall felt cramped. Overall, our experience was a positive one and was very affordable compared to the chain hotels in the area.

Room Tip: If you have trouble with stairs, ask for a first floor room. This Inn does not appear to be handica...

My wife and I stayed at the Tunnicliff Inn for 1 night in July 2012 during our visit to the Baseball Hall of Fame and it surpassed all of our expectations by a landslide.

We arrived to the hotel a little early and wanted to see if we could check in early. The manager greeted us and told us we had a free upgrade to a new king standard room, from our original queen standard room. Everything in the room looked nice and new. The manager also told us some good spots to hit while in town and to get our tickets to the Hall of Fame after 7 PM the night before, and we would be allowed in for 2 hours as a little preview. This little tidbit was priceless, as we were able to have the run of the Hall for a few hours by ourselves. The manager also answered all the questions we had, and was very friendly and thorough with all the information about the inn and town.

There is a little parking lot behind the Tunnicliff. It isn't huge, but can definitely fit a good amount of cars with some creative parking. You can park there for free as long as your stay is, and the inn also gives you a list of places with directions of places you can park for free in town that are close. That was real useful information, as we checked out of the hotel, but still had the rest of the day to spend in Cooperstown.

The free breakfast buffet was very good as well. We were expecting your basic boring continental breakfast. But the Tunnicliff offered MUCH more than that. They had eggs, bacon, cinammon rolls, muffins, cereal, pancakes, hash browns, waffles, toast, bagles, a special chili cheese eggs recipe, and a bunch of other stuff along with juice/coffee/etc. The food was hot and tasty. Thumbs way up, especially for a free meal.

The location simply cannot be beat, either. We were basically a block away from the Hall of Fame, Doubleday Field, and most of the shops. Granted, the Main Street of Cooperstown isn't exactly sprawling, but being close to everything was really nice. If we wanted to drop something off at the hotel, it was so extremely convenient. And when we wanted to go somewhere, inevitably we were right next to it. For all of this, you think the prices would be high? Instead it's the best deal in the entire town (from what I saw online at least). The next time I go to Cooperstown or any of my family/friends ask where to stay in Cooperstown, my answer is 100% the Tunnicliff Inn. I sincerely look forward to going back there again soon!

My husband and I stayed here for our tenth anniversary. We have never stayed in a bed and breakfast and usually prefer larger hotels. After much Internet research, I saw that there really wasn't an affordable hotel within walking distance to main street. We finally decided to try the Tunnicliff after reading the online reviews. What a wonderful surprise this place was. Our room was beautiful and pretty modern. They upgraded our room but some of the other rooms we saw were just as nice. The staff were very nice. Like other reviews said, parking could be tricky, but the staff helps you out finding a place. Breakfast the next morning was awesome. They pretty much had some of everything. We definitely want to stay here again (even though we could visit Cooperstown on a day trip).

It gets 5 stars for location. It's on a side street right off Main street. It's one block from the Hall of Fame. And if you're up early in the am like me and take a walk around Cooperstown, you will find that no place opens up before 9am. However, right across the street from the Inn is Stage Coach coffee shop which opens up at 6:30 am which allows you to easily get a cup of coffee and/or breakfast if you can't wait until the Inn's buffet is served at 8:30am.
Beside location, most things about the Inn are good.....a decent but bland buffet, parking available in back but occasionally full, friendly and helpful staff when they're around, and decent size room.

This was our fourth visit to Cooperstown and our third stay at the Tunnicliff. In all our visits at the Inn, the staff was always friendly, rooms was always clean, and it felt like home. One small complaint would have to be the size of the shower unit...but lets face it...you are only in the shower for 10 to 15 minutes at a time...I think most people can live with it (at least we can). We loved the old feel of the building (slanted floors and all). We have stayed at many B&B's and Inns, the breakfast that you receive here is above what many offer. The "PIT" is the restaurant
on-site and offers nightly specials. Fish & Chips, Prime Rib, Lobster, all were very tasty. And location was exceptional, center of the square. BaseBall Hall Of Fame within a block. Local bars within walking distance (try the Irish place----Cooley's) down the street. Lake front close by. And the start of the Susquanna River (who would think it starts out here and is so small????

Room Tip: first floor front of building (right inside a exterior door no need to go thru lobby) second floor...

I attended a conference in Cooperstown and brought most of the family with me. Conference hotel (Otesaga) was quite pricey so we reserved adjoining rooms at the Tunnicliff. Check in was quick. The place was cozy. The breakfast buffet was well stocked and delcisious with a very good assortment of foods. The lcoation was convenient as it was in walking distance to everything we wanted to do.

Drawbacks - the shower stall was very small. We had requested a 1st floor room because there is no elevator and we didn't want to lug everything up the stairs. There was alot of noise outside of the room in the morning with trucks and vehicles going by outside. This is likely due to the location being right at the main corner of town which is VERY convenient.

The second night we were there we went to the restaurant downsatirs. The food was a good value and was tasty. The service was very good also.
