Within walking distance of the town. Very clean and comfortable with quality but dated furniture. Set a little back off the street so doesn't really seem like a motel. Not at all expensive, especially when compared to regular hotels in Cooperstown with their eyewateringly high prices. Excellent place if you are on a budget.

The Mohican is a family-owned motel on the outskirts of Cooperstown Village. It is an excellent basic motel for a visit -- not much in the way of frills, but very clean and well maintained. Given that Cooperstown is the home of the Baseball Hall of Fame and other museums, plus summer opera and outdoor recreational opportunities, who wants to stay cooped up in a motel room, anyway?

The price may seem high for such lodgings, but Cooperstown is an expensive place, and the Mohican is a bargain in the village. The location is a short drive from the village's attractions, or an easy 10 or 15-minute walk to Main Street.

We stayed one night here passing through from the Ommegang Brewery tour to visit the Fennemore Museum.

A basic old style motel in a residential neighborhood. Clean and our room smelled fine, but all a little dated and tired. But better than anything else we saw driving around. Location is good, about a 15 minute walk to the Hall of Fame, but the Trolley stops right outside.

New York Pizza is a few blocks towards downtown, and there is a convenience store one block the other way. Fridge and coffeemaker in the room. Basic toiletries in the clean bathroom.

Tip
The fridge in our room was not working. It was not a biggy for us as we were passing through, but meant we had to buy ice for the cooler.

After driving for nearly twelve hours, my family was expecting a nice place to get a little R&R for the night. However, after arriving at the Mohican Motel, we quickly realized that that would not be the case.

First off- the smell. It is so repulsive, we had to keep the door open and spray a bottle of cologne. And that didn't do much at all. The scent induces headaches.

The room was small and cramped- hardly any floor room. Ancient furniture, shady-looking bathroom.

Was absolutely, 100% not worth the $150 for one night. Personally, I would've rather slept in my car in a Walmart parking lot. Totally horrendous.

Room Tip: Just do not stay here.

I agree with the other reviewers…our room was clean & this is a basic older motel, I loved the knotty-pine walls as it took me back to motels of my younger days. A little more then I like to pay for a Mom/Pop motel but there were events going on as w/any free enterprise, prices go up. It fit the bill for our night's stay so we were very satisfied.

Other reviews are largely accurate and led me to book one Room for one night for me and my family here. Very clean rooms, furniture/decor is old but not cheap. Hard to describe but clean and very usable. It's a motel and for what it is, it's great. Right off trolley system, so visiting museums is as simple as possible. Wifi is strong and free. I got a room with three double beds, which suited our needs well and is not typically available. Great value pick, room was very affordable, but not a hotel. No pool so wouldn't stay here with family for a week. Would stay here again in a heartbeat for a short stay.

This is a very basic motel that's a nice 10 minute walk to Main St. The room was small but comfortable and clean. Good value. Would stay there again.
