Waubeeka Family Campground
Reviewed 25 June 2013

My family recently became seasonals at Camp Waubeeka. The managers Rich and Kim are awesome. The park is clean, spacious, and beautiful. Their is always great entertainment on Saturday nights. The two (2) lakes are alot of fun. One is used for fishing and boating, while the other one is used as a swimming area with white sand. We were hesitant coming here because of the negative remarks we heard, but are pleasantly surprised by our experience thus far. My whole family has been accepted with open arms, even my special needs child, who wasnt accepted at another campground. Keep up the good work Rich and Kim.

Room Tip: I have not viewed their cabins, so I cant comment on them.

This was our second visit, once tenting and this time in a travel trailer. The grounds are pretty clean and it is early in the season so take that in to consideration. This campground, like so many, is lrimarily seasonal trailers. It does have spots for the vacationing traveler embedded throughout.

Most areas have newer prefab bath houses however we found they were not cleaned daily, some showers didn,t work, the toilets got clogged easily, and the door locks were weak and/or broken.

The camping area was so small we actually paid for the spot next to us so we could spread out which made it much better. There was'tt a single usable picnic table anywhere in the vicinity so good thing we had two folding tables of our own.

There were some temporary problems that we think they should have notified us of before we arrived; one, there was no propane fill up as it had been out of order for weeks, and the second they just replaced the water pump and ALL water had to be boiled including for washing dishes.

We probably won't go back however in fairness, the families that stay there seemed very nice and to enjoy their time there.

The new managers are really pro-active! The new staff members are really trying to get this place back to it's heyday!
The activities were awesome, with a nice mix of sports and arts and crafts.
Good place for families!
