We went here based on trip advisor, we were running the Wine Glass marathon. Simply a great place with very good food and wine selection.

After a most pleasant day visiting several Finger Lakes wineries and the Rockwell Museum of Western American Art in Corning, we headed to The Cellar for dinner. The hostess greeted us warmly and led us to a roomy table in the dining room. She surprised us by then giving us an Apple iPad to use in making our cocktail and wine selections. What a fun idea! The tablet gave us the opportunity to choose our wine by region or by varietal or by price for glass/bottle among other categories. We settled on a house Fall specialty, pumpkin martinis that were delicious.
The next surprise was a perfectly caramelized pearl onion, served as an amuse-bouche even before our cocktails arrived. A shared appetizer of smoked salmon and chevre was generous in portion as well as tasty. Our entrees of scallops in an apple/cider and brandy reduction and pumpkin ravioli in an excellent cream sauce were more than worth another visit. Service from our waiter, Emmet, could not have been better. We look forward to coming again.

I've frequented The Cellar many times, and have never had a bad meal. I will often just order off the bar menu, as the prices are a bit high for me. That being said, the food is top notch and not what I woule expect from "small town America". The staff is very friendly and the chef will accomodate special requests, which is nice. They have an extensive wine list and a nice selection of beers. I would definitely recommend a visit (or several), but just be aware that it isn't a low cost choice. It's a great place to take out of town guests or business acquaintances for a special evening out.
