“Gluten Free Pasta!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 August 2014

We went for the gluten free pasta and it was very good. Quaint little remodeled restaurant in the scenic downtown area. I would love to go back!

“Wonderful experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 August 2014

We were visiting the Corning museum for a couple of days and this restaurant was suggested by out hotel. We were seated right away and our friendly waitress brought our wine and hot bread and dipping oil in a timely manner. The dishes we ordered were very fresh and homemade delicious! Seafood lasagna had wonderful sauce. Special of the day was artichoke ravioli (mine served with meat sauce) very tasty! Salads were regular side salad but very nice. Would definitely recommend this restaurant if you are in the Corning NY area.

“A Market St Staple”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 August 2014

A must stop for Italian food. Our visit was enhanced with dinner at Sorge's. All our meals were very good with plenty of flavor and generous portions. A good choice in the middle of "the street to be seen on."

“Great food, a little pricey”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2014

A main reason we chose Sorge's was because they offer gluten-free selections (one of my friends has an allergy). Nice service (unlike some other places on market street!), but prices are a little steep. Seafood alfredo for $17.99? This is what my friend ordered, and from the looks of it there wasn't much seafood in there (Honestly I thought it was just plain alfredo until she showed me a couple pieces of shrimp). She said it was good though. I ordered the ravioli and the tomato sauce was really good. I actually started dipping some of the bread in the sauce because it was so yummy. Other than prices (to be fair the portions are somewhat large and salad and bread are included in the price), overall experience was nice. We will probably go back.

Thank you Sylvia for taking the time to write your extensive review. We take a lot of pride in our homemade pasta and special sauces. I am glad you like our ravioli, and yes it and our sauces are homemade. I was a bit distressed to hear about your friends experience and wish you would have brought it to our attention immediately so we could have corrected the situation. And yes, we are proud to offer generous portions to our customers. When you come back, please be sure to ask for one of us. Mike & Chris

“Just Average”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 August 2014

We spent one night in Corning and picked one place to dine based on TripAdvisor reviews. Usually they are spot on but this place missed the mark (at least in our opinion)

The restaurant is in a lovely building, lovingly cared for. We arrived on a weekday evening when it was not that busy. Our waitress (not the owners also helping out) was brisk, efficient but not overly friendly. The food was delivered very quickly.

Our calamari appetizer was very greasy and the mains (pasta and chicken, and eggplant parmigiana) while being quite filling were bland and not very tasty.

You get a lot of food for the price but the chef could try using more spices and laying off the grease. People around us seemed to be enjoying their meals so maybe we are being overly picky.

Thank you for the review. We are very lucky that Corning is such a great destination town. And thank you for bringing this situation to our attention. We take great pride in our home-made sauces, and we actually make two versions. We have a regular version which is more of a traditional sauce, and our newest sauce is our "Angry Sauce" which is growing in popularity with a lot of our customers. We also use quality oils (not grease) and special spices. I wish you would have brought this to my attention at the time of service and we could have corrected the issue. The next time you are in town, please consider visiting us again and trying the same meal with the Angry Sauce. Mike & Chris
