After my extended weekend stay at Chateau Herálec, I feel obliged to recommend the hotel to anyone who can appreciate places with character. The castle has been renovated with great artistry while remaining true to its original spirit. My husband and I were astonished by the place as a whole to the minute details, including the personnel.

In my view, Herálec is best suited for people who relish beauty in simplicity and masterful craftsmanship over the pompous boastfulness. Those seeking a true and honest place with a touch of nature

Lastly, the cuisine deeply rooted in the Czech tradition, only freshened up for modern tastes, is simply delicious.

Perfectly restful place, pleasant staff (understanding for specific guest requirements, no extra costs for small extra services), relaxing experience. Excellent dining, nice walks and indoor swimming. Cosy and clean place with a unique classy character.

Room Tip: Luxury double room offered an enormous space and a beautiful park view.

Amazing place, amazing Spa, amazing service and people! This is one of the best location I stayed in CZ on the highest level of a relais chateaux type of place. We had a chance to meet with the owner who explained to us the history behind the reconstruaction of the castle...again just amazing project!

This lovely establishment is a dream come true for demanding “cream” of Prague and Brno’s citizenry looking for periodic escapes to their out-of-home Shangri-La – as well as for discriminating visitors of Austria and the Czech Republic.

Chateau Heralec is an imposing, very tastefully re-created castle-hotel, which somehow managed to preserve all the old world’s “fairytale charms” – while also meeting the expectations of today’s travellers, who insist on having all the conveniences of twenty-first century comforts. And, very importantly, the whole enterprise is being conducted with impeccable taste.

I do not personally know the creators of this wonderland, but their perfect discernment is clearly apparent from every angle of their endeavor. They should be warmly congratulated.

Running of Chateau Heralec cannot be an easy undertaking – the area of Ceskomoravska Vysocina, is rather distant from the small pool of slowly growing source of qualified service professionals in Prague. It is a small miracle the management succeeded in recruiting the existing personnel – the pleasant, professional reception staff, the cheerful, supportive team that looks after hotel guests throughout their stay in Chateau Heralec, the entire crew that runs the hotel with such an infectious enthusiasm.

The rooms, both the social areas as well as the beautiful bedrooms, are luxurious, welcoming and very, very voluminous (such a rare attribute today!) – occupants cannot help the feeling of being personal guests of their aristocratic friends, rather than mere hotel lodgers.

The English-type park surrounding Chateau Heralec is another item one has to admire and appreciate: what an amount of work had to be invested to the Nature in order to obtain such a harmonious result!

I firmly believe that in years to come, this newly recreated chateau will join the best country retrieves Europe can offer to seekers of perfection, such as Chewton Glen in Great Milton, Inverlochy Castle in Scotland‘s Fort Williams, the lovely Chateau Les Crayeres in Rheims, the magnificent Raymond Blanc’s Le Manoir aux Quat Saisons in New Milton etc.

As I said at the beginning of this review – Chateau Heralec represents a new dimension in hospitality art in the Czech republic – a true gem in more than one sense. Emphatically recommended to all discriminating seekers of exceptional life experience!

I stayed at Chateau Heralec with my husband and two tots for a long weekend and we all had a fabulous time there. The building was completely renovated approx. two years ago and it is now providing modern and comfortable rooms and facilities. The rooms are huge. I read the reviews here and was expecting the room to be spacious. Nevertheless the size of our room – Grand Double Room, made my jaw drop. The weather wasn’t great for outdoors, so we spend most of the time at the Chateau and enjoyed our time – even the little ones. There is a nice indoors swimming pool that the kids enjoyed, a small playing corner and DVDs for all ages. The restaurant is open from 8am to 10pm and the service is very kid-friendly (even when the kids are tired and not too friendly themselves ). There is kid menu. Regardless they were open to adjust dishes to meet our needs. The service is the icing on the cake. ALL the staff members were extremely kind and helpful. They really did their best to make us feel good. Without us even asking they placed a nice selection of toys in our room, keeping the kids busy when we wanted to get some rest. One evening the kids went to sleep early and we ordered dinner to our room. I was expecting those little legged trays to come, but they actually brought up a fully set table, enabling us to enjoy a romantic dinner at our room. If you have tots, you probably know how precious it is. We are already planning our next visit. This time will wait for a better weather to have the opportunity to explore the surrounding. Note: at night the temperature at the room dropped down and required us to put on extra layers.

Room Tip: There was no bathtub in our bathroom, just shower. If the kids are very young, you may want to make...

Dear Ravita,
Thank you for you review. We are very pleased you have enjoyed your stay with us! However we do regret you haven't let us know, that temperature at your room has made you feel a little uncomfortable during night. We could turn the heating up a bit or provide you with an extra duvet.
Regarding the bathtub we are able to place a small baby tub for infants to all our rooms, which are quiped with shower only.

We look forward to your next visit!
Best regards,
Jakub Kokoska

What else can be said? Simply one of the best hotels in CZ, definitely very good for a weekend retreat for both romantic couples or a family. Renovation done with a special attention to the very detail, great job done by the owner and the architect. There are very few things that might be improved. Wine list is very very surprising. One of best selections of Bordeaux in this part of the world! Great staff, very attentive owner, will definitely come back with friends and family again.

Room Tip: Even the small rooms are of a size similar to junior suite in other 5* hotels, bigger rooms are real...
