Treasure Cove Resort
Reviewed 28 April 2009

Just returned from paradise. My wife and I spent our 25th anniversary in one of these cottages. When they said on the lake they ment on the lake. Our cottage was extremely clean with new furniture and comfortable beds. John and his crew run a great place.

We just returned from our trip to Lake George and loved staying at the Treasure Cove. We stayed in units 37 and 38 - a two room efficiency. The rooms were clean, the appliances were new. Each room has a little patio/deck with a table and chairs. You can eat outside. The staff and owners are super -friendly and very accomodating. We constantly saw the staff working and taking care of the property.

There are two play areas for the kids, picnic tables, volleyball, and a few arcade games.

Down by the water, there is an elevated deck where you can eat or just enjoy the view. There are also free kayaks, paddle boats, two canoes, and a rowboat for your use.

The place is well maintained. We would definitely recommend it and cannot wait to go back next year.

We stayed three nights at the Treasure Cove Hotel. Overall we enjoyed our stay. The rooms are simple but clean. The resorts grounds are well kept, the buildings were in good repair.
The hotel office staff and owners were friendly and happy to answer any questions.
There were only a few things I was not happy with: The beach is very small and the swimming area is roped off at about 3 feet deep; this is great for young children but not great swimming for adults. Also the resort is tucked away in a cove that obstructs the view of this beautiful lake. We enjoyed the canoes, kayaks and my son loved fishing for Sunny's from the dock each day.

New owners have made wonderful improvements. Very friendly owners and staff. Kids and adults had a great time. The family fun day is a terific idea.. a great way to get all the famlies together to get to know one another and make friends. Our bigger kids loved to go out on the kayaks while the little one played on the beach. Very clean. Looks like new appliances. New furniture.
Very accomadating. Will definitely stay again

I stayed in this hotel/"resort" in July 2006 and it was the worst stay in all my travel history. i had made a desicion to stay in this resort based on the review i read here, that suggested that place is very good for families. Upon our check in we were given a house #17 3 bedroom/2 bathrooms house. one of the bedrooms had a maitanance closet right in the room????with equipment there, second bedroom had a closet with inground pump in it that was working all the time. For those of you who like me had not idea what inground pump is-is it a pump that sucks water from under the house ALL THE TIME and creates this crazy suction motion that can drive you crazy in one day!!!! i had addressed my issues to the owner who keep tell me that he will come up with something till i realized that i was trapped in that house with no leverage, since it was prepaid in cash upon arrival..... big mistake to choose this place. the house itself was in a very bad condition, dirty carper, very old bathoom tubs and kitchen appliences. all together i stayed there for a week with my parents and my toddler child. to make is worst (if that was possible) beds were infested with bed bugs and we all got bitten........Not only our vacation was ruined, but the damage was irreversable. Please be very carefull when choosing places like this one, eventhough with it's location right on the lake it was my worst travel experience!!!!

The property is right on the lake and the facilities are all clean and in working order. Check-in/out was quick and efficient. This place is not a fancy lakefront resort but it has the amenities to make it a family friendly environment. We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend and we will be back next year!

We have been coming to Lake George for years but never stayed at Treasure Cove. I just picked it our after looking a many places online, it looked quaint and like a nice clean place. It wasn't the worst place I have ever stayed, but there are things that need fixing. We barely had any hot water the first two days (we stayed a total of three days) By the third day it was hot....very weird. The grounds are ok, I guess if you have kids they would enjoy. There is a game area with about 5 video games, there is a big dock at the bottom near the lake. We didn't use the pools or go in the water (it was raining during our stay) The other problem was the noise at night. After 11 or so (two of the 3 nights) we heard kids yelling and what sounded like banging and slamming doors. Its not a four or three star resort but Treasure cove serves it purpose. Another note, bring a calling card if you want to make long distance calls...we couldn't get cell reception there and wanted to make calls, but you can't just make long distance calls, you need a calling card and they don't have any for sale at the front desk.
Local calls are free...
