serched the web for a nice clean resort and found it at the Juliana,my wife and I stayed in room #10 which had a partial view of the lake, the rooms were clean and inviting, it was early in the season and the staff was working on the landscaping and really getting everything in order before memorial day weekend, spent alot of time on the dock fishing, and caught some nice bass, perch, and crappie, they have a row boat you can use but you really dont need to go out to far to catch some fish.
The resort is close to town, and food, but far enought from the crowds. just watch out, the resort comes up on you pretty fast, and you just may pass it (which I did) the locals will drive right on your butt, but the speed limit is only 40MPH (SLOW DOWN PEOPLE!! )most of us dont know where we are going, anyway its a nice place to RELAX so party people stay away or go into town where its more acceptable

Room Tip: Try and get rooms#30 or #10

We stayed at the Juliana in late September - specifically choosing it because it was the #1 rated property in Diamond Pt. We have previously stayed at Treasure Cove but decided to try something new even if it was a little more expensive. However, we were disappointed.

We stayed in unit #18. The main bedroom was extremely small and dark. There was only one little window. The bathroom shower was so tiny that we joked that a single person could not fit in it. The main sitting/bedroom was nice but only two small window panes in the large picture window actually opened so it was hard to let the wonderful Lake George air into our room. The view of the Lake was practically non-existent.

Housekeeping services were advertised but our bed was not made up - when we questioned why it wasn't, we were told that a personal item was on the bed and the housekeeper would not touch the bed. The personal item was a pillow from home. There was no sign indicating that all items must be removed. We have stayed in many other hotels where this was not an issue.

The room was clean and the Juliana was adequate. However, it was not "special" and we would probably not return. However, if we did, we would definitely stay in a unit closer to the Lake,

Room Tip: Get as close to the Lake as you can. Ask about windows in room.

A random pick of The Juliana turned out to be a great success. The Juliana is a clean, quaint, charming property and really great for kids. Erik, the "man in charge" is funny. professional and accommodated our request for a late check-out. We had a great lake view from our deck and enjoyed breakfast overlooking this serene view.
The property has everything you might want: canoes, a lakeside firepit, picnic benches, hammocks, lakeside lounge chairs, beach toys at the lake, bbq''s for each unit, a great lakeside dock and more!
We will definitely stay there if we make it back to Lake George. We envision a really fun, longer stay the next time to enjoy all of the amenities.

We first went to the Juliana in the early 90's and we loved it. We were supposed to go back the next year but I got laid-off so I called Barbara, the previous owner, and she returned my deposit. A few years later we went back and started a yearly event that hit 14 this year. The present owner, Eric, is very friendly and accommodating, my wife has poor vision and we were using a camp lantern on the dining table so she could see better while eating. Eric noticed it one day and the next year when came back he had installed a light on the wall above the table. He is always moving around, fixing and building things and enjoying the company of his guests. I have seen some complaints about the noise of his ATV, but I don't think those people would like walking up and down those hills all day. We have also made many good friends there from different parts of the country and look forward to seeing them every year and watching their children grow up. Hope Eric finishes his Rosetta Stone soon. Jack and Marion

What a nice place! We arrived the day before Hurricane Irene. Eric, our host, told us that he expected we'd lose power - we did. We had a flashlight, got a few candles and made sure to charge all of our electronic devices. The hurrican arrive the next morning & we had a front row seat to watch whitecaps on the lake, the trees bending in the wind and so much rain. We lost power about 3:00 PM until about midnight. During that time Eric had offered to set up a movie for the kids in the lake house (under generator power for the pump to keep water flowing to all the rooms). Since my kids are teens they were not interested in the G rated movies for the little ones - but it was nice to have the option. We managed to find a KFC open in Queensbury and ate by candlelight that night.

We were in rooms 24 & 25 which combine to make a really nice suite - closest to the lake. We had a huge picture window and wonderful private deck with our own gas grill, a basic kitchen, private bedroom for us, a separate sleeping area for the kids and 2 bathrooms. It was the perfect combination for us - we had privacy and the kids had their own area. The beds were comfy, (pillow top mattesses) both TV's were flat screens (larger wall-mounted in the living room). The kitchen includes basic pots, pans, dishes and utensils. This kitchen did not have an oven. There's a gas stove-top and a microwave. I had planned on baking stuffed shells that I had brought from home and instead used the microwave which didn't work out quite as well. I heard that some of the housekeeping units do have ovens - so if it matters to you ask Eric when you make your plans. Knowing that I will plan accordingly. The grill worked nicely for steaks, burgers, hotdogs, etc. and we ate out of the deck most evenings and mornings. The deck was a wonderful respite for me to enjoy my coffee when I woke up before everyone else.

The beach is kept clean and manicured. There are plently of lounge chairs and adirondack style chairs. There's a firepit that many families gathered around in the evenings. Our teens were more intesterested in trawling the village of LG in the evenings so we did not get to enjoy the firepit as much as I would have liked. Many of the younger families were roasting hotdogs and marshmallows and hanging out in the evenings. (Had there been more teens that week my kids would have been there.) There's also a nice deck on top of the beachhouse with comfortable cushioned rattan furniture I spent a few late afternoons there reading and enjoying the quiet and the view.

My family took advantage of the kayaks as did many other families - which they really enjoyed. It was a cooler than average week so I can't personally comment on the pool or lake - but my husband and kids really enjoyed both.

We bought discounted Sic Flags tickets from Eric too. It was a slow post-hurricane week & the amusement park was very uncrowded. We also rented a boat from Chic's marina and had a great day of it. These expensive days were made possible becuase we prepared our own dinners every night but one. And with the gas grill they were easy dinners.

Eric seems to upgrade some aspect of The Juliana every year - it's nice to see that he takes such pride. As a result the Juliana attracts a nice group of clients. We had stayed somewhere else last year and there were a lot of rowdy-20-something-partiers. The Juliana attracts couples (young and older) and families with kids & teens. There was an extended family group while we were there - what a nice way to enjoy vacation.

Not sure if we'll be back to Lake George next year - but we have decided that when we are in Lake George this is where we'll be staying.

The rooms are very clean and it is a nice spot on the lake. The cleaning girls are very friendly and helpful. Eric the owner also will go out of his way to make your stay joyful. Really liked the free rental of canoes, rowboat, and kayaks. We went for a canoe ride at sunrise and what a view. We would stay there again. You can tell they take pride in the place by how well kept everything is. It has a very steep driveway but we didn't have any problems getting in and out several times during the weekend with our Harley.
